Obviously AU but a girl can dream.
Disclaimer: You people make me laugh. Haha! If I owned this show it would literally be the worst/best combination of Karmy fluff and smut 24/7
"You're the reason I exist.." It was quiet. Amy was always quiet when they were this close, but Dear holy fucking spirits did Karma hear it loud and clear. She heard it and bless hell if she didn't hold on to Amy just a little bit tighter afterwards. How pathetic of her.
Karma doesn't get it. She told the world that she was gay, a big fat lie, in an attempt to impress a boy she didn't even like that much. She stood up in front of hundreds of protesters to sing a song about him (Or at least she thought it was about him until Amy showed up.) She's fearless under the judgmental and discriminating eyes of the world. So why is it that here, in the quiet of her best friend's room, as they're tangled up in each other, that Amy is the only brave one?
Karma will say it. She's in love with her best friend. So madly and deeply that it makes her chest hurt. She will not, however, say it out loud.
That's a different boat entirely. In fact, It would be the Titanic.
Which is hardly understandable since Amy has already admitted to practically everyone how much she does in fact love Karma back. Karma just doesn't trust it.
Best friends in love sounds like a cute romantic thing, and it is, but Karma is worried about the best friends falling out of love part that destroys souls and breaks people. How could she ever say "I love you" to Amy knowing that she could end up hurting her? She couldn't, that's how.
She'd die without Amy.
The terrible part is they're already practically dating, and not just in public. Even now, they're curled up with each other, exchanging sweet nothings. They kiss, and hug, they go on "dates" which really are actual dates, Karma just refuses to call them that. They just haven't made it official in the privacy of their rooms yet. When the world is watching they both automatically share glances, kisses, and other formalities of dating, but behind closed doors they switch to manual. Then suddenly everything is different. Sensual, tender, sweet, gentle, loving, all so romantic with no rhyme or reason. They can just simply be with each other without the pressure of the world expecting them to put on a show. They can mean it, and they do, but if they say it..
If they say they love each other for real, to each other, if they say they mean it, when they're all alone.. Things would change.
They'd become robots to each other and robots break.
"You're a superhero Aims.. You exist to save me" Karma explained. She meant it. Amy always saved her. It's what she did.
"What happens if a superhero is in trouble? Who saves them?" Amy asked, her breath clamming up the skin against Karma's collarbone.
"I dunno. Why do you ask?"
"I'm in trouble Karms.. The kind of trouble that makes your chest hurt and your eyes water.. I wanna call it love because only stupid people fall in love for real, and I feel stupid.. Like dumber than a half-baked brick stupid. I don't know what to do.." She whispered into Karma's chest.
"I'll save you.." Karma offered knowing she'd never be of much help.
"You're the trouble maker.."
"So are you, hero" Karma admitted to the dopey pile of blonde sprawled across her body.
"So long as we're stupid together, Ashcroft.." Amy smiled against Karma's neck as she lazily nipped at the skin there.
"Hmm.. We're complete idiots, you big dumb.." Karma responded while curling into Amy's embrace.
Maybe it's not exactly brave, since she's still hiding in the comfort of Amy's arms, but if this is weak then Karma likes it anyways. She'll let Amy be the brave one tonight.. Because the world isn't around to make her stronger. She can't say she loves Amy here, because if she screams, no one will hear it.. And Karma's always done better in front of a crowd.
