--Note…story is told in the eyes of Hisoka…dunno why, maybe cuz I felt like it.—
For as long as I was there, I remember the two fought like an old married couple. Tsuzuki would beg for something, then Tatsumi would fuss at him about how he needed to just be quiet and move on with life. "They'll end up together someday, kid." Watari always joked. Then he'd wink, and say "And when one of them makes it known, the other will say 'What took you so long?'."
I always thought he had a good point. It was obvious how the two cared about each other. "Hisoka-chan, Tatsumi doesn't look well, does he?" Tsuzuki had brought this up with me on many occasions when Tatsumi would pass by with bills in his hand. I knew that Tatsumi had these looks on his face because he was a bit of a penny pincher, and the bills for keeping a society like this running must be out the roof, but I always knew Tsuzuki was worried. "He's fine. It's just the money." I'd reply.
"Hisoka-san, is Tsuzuki alright?" occasionally I'd even get questioned by Tatsumi. "His eyes are kind-of down today." And I always knew that the only reason Tsuzuki looked this way was because he'd probably eaten all of his stash of chocolate, being the dumbass he was. "Don't worry about him, he'll be better sooner or later."
One day, though, neither of them was walking around like they usually were. I would pass down the halls of the society, and Tsuzuki's bright purple eyes weren't peeping around the corners at me, nor was Tatsumi's serious voice muttering about high prices and how souls didn't deserve such luxuries. Everything was quiet. It wasn't until Watari dragged me off that I realized he'd been right all along
"Just be extremely quiet…you'll see what I mean." He whispered. We looked around the corner, and there the two were, speaking in hushed tones.
"Tatsumi-san, you know what I mean!" Tsuzuki hissed, very unlike himself. His stark purple eyes were filled with the most emotion I'd ever seen in them. "I care about you more than that."
"And you know very well what I mean!! I don't TRY to be cruel to you, I don't TRY to act like a horrible person!! All I ever do is worry about you!! And every time you look at me…with those eyes…" everything got quiet from there. He averted his gaze. "Tatsumi-san…I…I love you." Watari gave me an 'I told you so' smirk.
Tatsumi looked back down at Tsuzuki, and I almost gagged when I saw their lips meet. I turned away then, but from what Watari told me, it got a little dirty. And with Watari, a little can be extreme.
But before I walked away, I heard Tatsumi sigh, and he almost sounded happy when he said "What took us so long?"
