Mission: Granted

"I need air."

In fact, I needed space. A place away from this bloody, murder scene. The corpse I was talking to seemed to nod. It was actually just tilting its head, due to the loss of jaw muscles. Such a bloody, bloody scene. Intestines spilling out in a disorderly mass, no order, no discretion. Such a beautiful corpse. I might need to burn the corpse, otherwise they might find out who killed him.

"Hehe." I'm repeating to myself.

And what would I do about myself? Me, covered in another's blood. What would they think, if they found me in this state. They wouldn't take me away, would they? They wouldn't be so cruel as to remove my freedom to kill.

"Nee, Soul?" I looked up into two, large green eyes.

"Maka?" I sat up quickly. "Where are the? Th-the intruders?" I glanced around frantically. "I had thought that they'd…"

"Eh? Intruders?" Maka looked at me strangely. "You knocked your head in your sleep, twisting and turning like that."

"Eh?" I mimicked her. I took in my surroundings. Eight o'clock, currently. Window? Not broken. Maka? Looking fine. In pajamas, but fine. "Well, that wasn't cool…" I turned towards my pillow, burying my face.
