Stella was the observant one when it came to relationships and social issues. Not Mac, which is why he found his present situation awkward.

"Say that again Adam?" The lab tech sat in one of the chairs in Macs office fidgeting with a pen. Mac's door was closed shutting out the busy noises of the lab. Mac sat on the edge of his desk. "Adam?"

"Ok, how do you feel about relationships in the lab again?"

"I caution against it, Adam, Why?" Mac was concerned where this was going.

"Because I walked in on a …something." Adam made a face and snapped the pen in half.

"And this something would be what?" Adam looked away. Mac quickly thought of all the couples that Stella had mentioned…Danny and someone came to mind. "Does this have to do with Danny?"

Adam's head snapped back toward Mac. "You KNOW?"

"Well, I…"

"Oh thank god! I was just…I just mean I… at first I wasn't sure what I was looking at. I mean seriously that was strange not to mention I knew Danny swung that way but I didn't know…."

"Swung what way?"

"Oh you know Mac… and not to mention I didn't think flack was that kinda guy…especially to be on bottom." Adam laughed then looked up at Mac, saw his expression then stopped laughing. "You didn't know did you?"

"Adam," Mac swallowed, "Why don't you head back to the lab, finish processing the evidence from the Jones case."

"But Mac…you just didn't hear this from me…" Mace slammed the glass door behind Adam then paused to collect his thoughts. Danny and Flack? If Stella had mentioned that he was pretty sure he would have remembered. Then again something about repressing bad memories came to mind as Mac went to the break room to get water. Thank god it was empty; Mac got the water then turned to leave and walked right into Flack.

"Whoa! Where's the fire Mac?"

"Ah…"

"Youz alright?" Don asked out of concern for the pale Detective.

"Working on it Don…ah…where were you about three hours ago?" Don froze at Macs question.

"Paperwork, coffee break…I dunno Mac." Flack tried to shrug it off, and avoided eye contact.

Mac dropped the water bottle, Flack was lying.

"S'matter Mac?" Danny asked as he came in. "And what are you doing? Flagging down planes at LaGuardia?" he addressed Don.

Mac turned to see Don drop his hands to his sides.

"Did I miss something?" Danny asked looking between the two.

"Yeah, got a message for you. Next time look the locker room door." Mac turned on his hells and fled from the break room leaving the couple starring at each other in horror.
