Hailee actually woke up at 11:30, but didn't bother to move until about noon. She forced herself to sit up, stretch, and blink the sleep out of her eyes. Saturday morning – err, afternoon – finally. No school for the next couple days. She combs her fingers through her hair. Hm. Not too bad. Glancing over at her phone, hooked to the charger, she notices the notification light blinking ever so faintly in blue. What now, another useless E-mail notification? (Hailee had signed up when she took the PSAT junior year of high school to get information from universities and colleges, and they haven't stopped. It's the same thing from every one. Take this personality quiz, we'll send you this useless thing and tell you how much you can't afford our school.) She pulled the phone from the power cord and unlocked it to check. Yep, just E-mail notifications. Tossing the phone aside onto the bed, Hailee stood up and stretched again, and trudged to the bathroom to fix her long, auburn hair. As she tugged the brush through it, she watched herself in the large mirror affixed above the sink, studying her tired features; the purplish bags under her eyes, the way her eyelids drooped over her icy blue eyes, her almost sickly pale skin, dotted with freckles across her cheeks and the bridge of her nose. Eww. No wonder I'm single. She made her way downstairs to find breakfast. Nothing in the pantry or the fridge looked particularly appetizing, and a thought about making pancakes was abandoned because of the amount of effort it would take. A piece of toast and a glass of orange juice in her TARDIS mug would suffice. She watched her cat hop up onto the table, and smiled as he sniffed her cup of OJ.
A short while later, she seated herself in front of her, computer and was about to bring up tumblr on her browser when she heard a familiar 'VWOOOOORP VWOOOOOORP' coming from somewhere. Shit. Who's calling me? She scrambled for her phone, only to realize that the sound wasn't her ringtone. What? ..Was I imagining it? Glancing back at her computer, she wondered if she'd opened a tab where someone had autoplay on their blog. A quick search of her open tabs showed that no, the sound had not come from her computer. Something compelled her to look out the window, and she walked over to the window with an apprehension she didn't understand until she looked out and saw a blue police box across the street from her house.
Her jaw dropped and she was paralyzed for a moment. I'm dreaming. I have to be dreaming. I didn't wake up this morning yet and I'm dreaming but oh my goD IS THAT THE TARDIS?! Without a second thought she darted down the stairs of her house in nothing but a loose black t-shirt and a pair of white panties.
"Doctor?!" She looked around frantically, not sure what to look for. David Tennant? Christopher Eccleston? Tom Baker?
Just then, a scruffy-haired man in a long brown coat and a blue suit turned a corner and walked towards the TARDIS. David Tennant then. Hailee ran towards him.
"Doctor!"
The tenth incarnation of the doctor stopped walking to look incredulously at the girl who'd just called him, racing towards him in nothing but a t-shirt and her underwear. Americans. No class whatsoever.
