A/N: Got an awesome prompt.
In the throes of a nightmare, JJ lashes out and injures one of the team.
I decided on Kate because it wouldn't make as much of an impact with JJ attacking someone else, because Kate is the only one shorter and smaller than JJ on the team. Everyone but Kate is totally bigger than JJ.
JJ was back there, in the cell. Askari was staring her down.
She could feel her hands coming loose, and realized that she'd actually succeeded in getting away. Finally. Her hands were free.
"I'm going to take my time," Askari hissed. "If you won't give up the code..."
She struck, lashing out. He fell to his knees, groaning.
Instinct took over and she kept hitting him, kept kicking him, over and over...she was finally winning. This dream had finally changed. She was finally beating him.
Dream.
JJ jerked awake, the thought pulling her from sleep.
"JJ!"
She sat straight up, seeing Kate on the floor of the airplane, holding one arm.
Hotch was next to Kate, crouching beside the younger agent.
"You were having a nightmare," Kate said. "Are you okay, JJ?"
Morgan was at JJ's side, gently massaging up and down one of JJ's arms. "You okay?" He pressed.
"Yeah, I'm fine," JJ gasped. "Kate, did I hit you?"
"Just a bit," Kate admitted. "Hotch pulled me away before I really got hit." She smiled gently. "I don't blame you."
"I'm sorry anyway," JJ panted.
"We're all okay," Hotch said, still crouching protectively by Kate. "Right, JJ?"
She nodded, feeling parched. "Can I have some water?" She asked, and the team slowly dispersed.
Kate got to her feet. "Are you sure you're okay?" She whispered soothingly.
"Thanks for waking me up," JJ said, avoiding the question.
Kate nodded. "Anytime," she said. "Even if it means getting hit in the face."
"You're a good friend," JJ sighed.
