"Remus, wait!" I called out, shoving on my shoes and running out of the house after my husband. It was a full moon, and he had recently run out of the potion that allowed him to control himself while he was in werewolf form. I had started brewing more when he ran out last month, but it took too long to brew and it wasn't ready yet.

"Remus?" You called out softly, walking carefully through the forest near your house. You lived in the country, away from other people in case an incident like this did happen. You heard a twig snap, wheeling around and finding yourself face to face with your husband in his werewolf form, who was now growling at you and edging closer to you.

You weren't afraid, walking right up to the very large and gangly wolf. He snarled at you, baring his teeth as your hand neared him. Before the wolf could react, you were stroking his head gently, your other hand scratching behind one of his ears.

The wolf leaned into your touch, its growling ceasing immediately. You smiled, coaxing it back through the forest and back into your house.

You, still petting the wolf, guided it in on your couch, allowing it to curl up. He took up most of the couch, but you squeezed on next to it, stroking its graying fur as its breathing slowed, before it fell asleep.

You smiled, continuing your petting for nearly another hour until you too fell asleep, head resting on the wolf's soft fur.

Remus awoke the next morning, naked, on the couch, with you draped over him. He couldn't remember much of what happened, but you appeared to be fine, and he pressed a quick kiss to your temple before he carefully crawled out from under you, hurrying into your shared bedroom to find some clothes.

You woke up a few hours later, back feeling stiff from sleeping on the tiny couch. You sat up and stretched, yawning before the smell of something cooking wafted through the air and into your nose.

You crept into the kitchen, blinking rapidly as the bright light hit your tired eyes. You wrapped your arms around Remus' middle as he flipped a pancake, nuzzling your head into his back.

"Morning." You muttered, stifling another yawn as you broke away from him, plopping down at your small kitchen table. You gratefully accepted the warm mug of tea he offered, shooting him a quick smile.

He smiled back, placing several pancakes in front of you, the perfect amount of syrup dripping onto the plate.

You grabbed a fork, cutting off a piece and placing it in your mouth.

"This is delicious." You announced after a moment, already shoving more in your mouth. Remus just smiled, crossing over and pressing a gentle kiss to your cheek.

"Thanks for last night." Remus whispered softly, peering into your _e/c_ eyes apologetically.

You didn't respond, just rolled your eyes at him playfully before you leaned up and kissed him.

"I'll always be here to help if you need it, just don't run off next time." You said sternly.

"Fair enough." He answered, his green eyes sparkling happily.

He was so happy that he found you; you were the missing piece he always needed.
