Prologue:
Ever since she was but a little girl, Princess Zelda was taught that monsters took the shape of a human. Their characteristic features being red eyes. Her father always told her that he would protect her and mother from them. When she became eight years old her father never once mention them again. But Zelda always remembered the stories of them.
Chapter One:
"Did you see that man standing over there by the corner, sister?"
Princess Zelda of Hyrule closed the small black book and looked up at her younger sister. "What?" She asked as she placed the book on her lap.
Impa pointed at the window of the carriage to show the person that held her interest. "That man over there."
The twelve years old paused when she found that the person no longer stood near the corner, leaving an empty spot instead. In front of the spot stood over dozens of the people waving and cheering for them.
Zelda rose an eyebrow when her sister faced forward again, but with a frown expression. "Maybe he went into the crowd. And what is so special about this man, Impa?" The elder princess questioned her.
"I swear he was there about a second ago and he's not in the crowd—he was hiding in the shadows!—and he had dark scarlet eyes—not very hard to miss. How could he disappear so fast after I just blinked?" Impa muttered the question to herself. Her eyes still searching for that man in her peripheral vision.
The princess breath got caught and her eyes wandered through the crowd in a hurry. Few questions came to mind as she zoned out to try to answer them. One question was wasn't the last red eyes monster supposedly killed by her own father? Did it mean there were more of them out there? Zelda knew she should tell her father right away once they arrive at the ceremony in the Amphitheater. The place just outside the Castle Town.
Her sister glanced at her with worried in her orange-red eyes. "A rupee for your thoughts, sister," she said, snapping her older sister out of her thoughts. She received a smile from her.
"It's nothing, Impa," Zelda replied. The young woman hated to cause the people around her to worry about her. As if she couldn't handle anything by herself.
Impa shook her head at her, her long whitish-blonde hair shaking with the motion. "I know you, sister! I shouldn't had told you about that man— now it's on your list to worry about!" The girl cried out, feeling a bit hurt of her sister's answer.
The older princess pat the book and protested in defense, "Impa, it's my duty to take care of Hyrule and its people. Very soon, I'll be its Queen. I have to be worry sometimes for the people's safety!"
"But—"
"Impa, stop! You don't have to worry about me, please, I can take care of myself." Impa glared at her but said nothing more.
Princess Zelda sighed and looked outside again to see that they were finally close to the Castle's wall. The people were following them to their destination to hear the meeting the King was to give. Zelda's eyes scanned through the crowd and gasp underneath her breath when she saw a person that was out of place.
The person was a man with black hair and black choice of clothing. But his eyes! It was his eyes that made the young woman froze with fear on her sit. For his eyes were the color of bloody red. Behind his eyes stood… longing. Longing for what, Zelda couldn't decide.
He stood there behind the crowd near the shadows just staring back at her. As if he knew she was staring at him. For some odd reason he reminded her of the man that helped saved her Kingdom: Link, from Ordon. The style of his clothes and his features seem the same as the young man, but had a bit more age to them. Other difference was that the monster didn't carried a sword or shield on him. Everything and everyone around him had slowed down, but when she blinked time resumed and the monster nowhere in sight.
She closed her mouth and looked away from the window where the people cheered for their two princesses.

The Amphitheater slowly begin to be filled up by the townspeople waiting to hear the meeting to be given by their King of Hyrule. The Hylian King, meanwhile, paced back and forth with his eyes glued to his feet. Behind him stood couple of guards keeping an eye on their leader from a distance. King Abas looked up sharply when a sound of horses' carriage was heard. An instant smiled on his face he waited for the carriage to stop in front of him.
A footman opened the door for the royal daughters and stepped aside without a word. The first to get off was princess Zelda, who smiled on the sight of her father, and made her way toward him.
Impa saw them and kept her distance with a weak smile. Brushing her silky baby blue dress first, the young girl reached back inside the carriage to grab her sister's book. A soft sigh that escaped her lips the young Royal Daughter strolled past her father's guards to take a seat to read. The book was an ancient Hylian spelling book in the ancient language. "Always studying she is, I see," Impa muttered.
Embracing him in a hug Zelda instantly relax—forgetting for a moment about the shadowy man. The hug brought forth a memory of when she was little and her father would pick her up and spin her around. And her mother would watch in a distance with a smile.
I wish I can go back to those good times before everything change after mother's death, Zelda thought dreamily before reality came back to her. But I can't.
Taking a step away from her father, Zelda stared at him in the eyes. Over the years he had gain weight, not looking the proud warrior king he was once was. His beard had gotten whiter and longer to touch his chest. A few streaks of white flow in-between the faded brown hair. He wore the traditional royal robes of the warmest color of red. His eyes the exotic color of greenish-blue.
Abas cleared his throat and Zelda knew he was in no nonsense now mood. He said to her, "After this meeting, we must speak in private of this so call take over by the 'Twilights,' Zelda. I need to know what had happened to my kingdom while I was gone."
"It's a long story father." But I bet the Hero of Light and Twilight has a longer one than mine, she thought to herself. The young woman didn't even recall of needing to tell her father about the man with the red eyes. "But I was brave for my people and I even had help to save Hyrule Kingdom from the threat." She remembered before Zant had invaded her castle she had send her sister to a safe area. Impa knew something was up, but left when she saw a worried look inside Zelda's eyes. But of course, Zelda knew her father wouldn't care about her younger sister. She was his least favorite daughter.
Changing the subject she asked him, "So father, you had just arrived yesterday, but you have yet to tell me what took place in the Nyx Kingdom. Was there a treaty after all?"
"Patience, my daughter. Have you forgotten your lessons— patience, wisdom, speech, and an iron of will is what makes a Ruler for the people."
The eldest Royal daughter took a breath. That's right, she thought, I need to wear a mask for my people—they need me to be the calm one; the one that will always have the answers and will always safe them. They didn't need a weak leader. That and she didn't want her people to worry about her. She needed to be strong for her people.
"The Treaty was successful, Zelda. The King and his son give me a hard time, but at the end we all agreed on several things for the new treaty. And the arrangement for your marriage was made afterwards."
Zelda's blue eyes stared at him with no reaction in them, however, inside she was caught off-guard that she felt shocked at the last news. It never cross her mind before of having to marry so soon. Even before her father never brought up the subject to her. Marriage was the very last thing on her mind.
"With the King?" She breathe out.
"My sweet Nayru, no," King Abas said in surprise of her question, "You are to be marry to Prince Vaati, the King's only son, by this end's week. I want to see a strong leader in the throne before I meet Death."
Those words stun her. All this time Zelda thought her father was going to step down and let her be crowned Queen without a man at her side. Even to hear that he wanted a 'strong leader' made her feel like she was unless and weak in his eyes.
The Princess continued to stare at her father, but slowly replied, "I see—at the day I am to be Queen too."
Her father nodded in reply. She glanced away to see her sister sitting down on a ground reading her book. Two of her father's guards standing behind her protectively that no citizen dare try to get close to the young princess. She focused back on her father. "Father, what's this prince's name again?"
"His name is Vaati—Prince Vaati," was his answer to her question.
Placing a hand on her shoulder he led them to the theater where the people were growing anxious for some news. "Come, my dear, we must not keep our people waiting."
She didn't say anything as she pondered on the sudden news tossed at her. She suddenly looked over her shoulder and thought she caught a glimpse of an old man wearing a tan hood over his head within the crowd before a person got in front of him. He reminded her of her teacher, Auru.
Auru shifted to glance at the youngest ruler reading a book on the ground. He almost smiled at the scene. He wondered who her tutor was since he left the castle after teaching mostly everything to Zelda. Telma, who was standing next to him, took a seat. She casted a look at him when she realized he was still standing. "Auru, seat down—the meeting is going to start soon." Her hand started to reach for his long robe to tug him down when he abruptly sat down, but not looking forward or at her. Her hand still in the air Telma used it to brush her tied-up hair as she followed his eyes.
Impa glanced up to see her two family members strolling by her. Her father didn't acknowledge her one bit, however, Impa lips rose in one corner when she saw Zelda motioning with one hand to follow them. "And here I thought I wasn't going to be invited," she muttered to herself as she stood up.
With Impa right behind them they went down the steps together. The guards following close behind them with their spears draw in front of their chest. Each of the guards then took a position around the theater and around their leaders. Everyone hushed when the King stepped forward at the stage away from his daughters and rose his hands to the air for silence.
"My people," He started to say out loud, "it warms my heart to see you all doing good and well, especially what had occurred to our beloved Castle when I was away in my travels. The demolished of it must have frightened you, making you want, or—in some cases—demanded, some answers. Do not worried for I will immediately get in the case and find out what had happened." The King finished and looked at the crowd to see that some had relax on his words.
Expect the guards. They shifted and glanced at the ground in shame. They recalled what had happened inside the castle. They were there with Princess Zelda, ready to attack some unknown forces when the doors had burst opened by force. Dark creatures that they never seen before rushed inside and attacked them within minutes. The guards were defeated so easily in their hands. It was only thanks to their princess that they even lived afterwards. But after that she disappeared for days and the creatures lingered outside the Castle's walls. The fading bruises, healing cuts, and nightmares never let the surviving men forget that day.
Telma scoffed. "He didn't even say that he will tell us about it afterwards." Auru just nodded at her statement. They knew half of what had happened in Hyrule.
Even Zelda noticed this. She knew she couldn't just tell everyone what really happened to their Kingdom and to the rest of Hyrule. People wouldn't understand or accept it. Only to believe that she was slowly going mad. Her smile twitched slightly and she looked at her clasped hands. If only they could understand. She resisted the urge to shake the thought out of her mind. No, it was better for them not to know what had happened.
Within the crowd a man shouted out, "Are we going to be attack by another kingdom?"
The princess's head snapped up to find the source of the voice. It belonged to a middle-age man who had stood up. Impa grab her hand into her own, coming closer to her sister. The man's question rose the people's fears again. They started to panic causing some to call out questions and others demanding some answers at once.
Before things could get out of hand, the King's voice boomed out, "SILENCE!"
A silence he received as everyone hushed again in an instant. "I do have good—no, great news to share with you all," He shouted out. He felt the anticipation and the impatience from the large crowd after waiting a few seconds. He continued on, "My beloved daughter, Zelda, is to be married to Prince Vaati from Nyx Kingdom. So let's put away our worries and celebrate this news and that we are alive and well tonight!" The crowd was stun for a moment before they interrupted into cheers as they stood up. Even some clapped to their princess on her engagement.
But, unknown to everyone, near a shaded tree behind them a shadow started to merge out of the ground. It grew taller until it formed into what looked like a man. The man that Zelda and Impa had saw inside the castle town. His black skin gradually turned a shade of dark gray to gray to finally a pale skin tone. His eyes' sockets no longer glow red. He took one step forward near the end of the shaded tree and pull out a bow and arrow. An arrow that a bomb was attached to.
He gently pulled the string back and inhale to hold his breath as he aimed. He released his fingers. The arrow zipped over everyone's head and exploded at the wall. Few women screamed at the sound with the loosen rocks falling down. Few people pushed others to get out of the way, but some meet their fates. Everyone started to panic. The pale man smirked on the scene before setting his sights on the eldest princess.
He vanished in a second.
Zelda pulled Impa closer to her in protection as they looked around for the attacker. Their father was shouting orders at the guards then telling the people to calm down. It didn't work as another explosion happened at the other side of the wall. Zelda followed the way it had come from to see a man on top of the cliff with a bow out. She could see him breathing heavy as the sun was on top of him. She was almost caught off guard with he looked at her staring directly at him. Her eyes widen when she realized he had red eyes and looked like the shadow man from before. He smiled at her before disappearing in her eyes. No, she saw him zipped down to the ground in a blur.
Zelda knew she should tell her father quickly. I can't believe I forgot about that man! Before she could shouted at her father's attention a hand clasped over her mouth and another around her waist. She was pulled away from Impa and into someone else.
Impa cried out and turned around to see Zelda struggling against a man that was pulling her away into an empty spot near a pillar. She shouted out her sister's name that caught her father's attention.
Even Telma and Auru saw what was taking place at their spots. They started to push against the people to get to the bottom.
King Abas stared dumbfound at the pale man holding his daughter hostage for a split second. The King then shook in angry and shouted out to him, "You can't be alive, Dark Link— you can't because I killed you with my own hands!"
He only received a shrugged and a smile from Dark Link. Zelda grew puzzled at this. Her father knew this shadow man yet he's supposed to be dead? The King snapped his fingers and pointed behind his daughter.
The guards made their way toward the attacker with their weapons draw. Dark Link started to laugh. "My, my, so eager to hurt your daughter? Have you forgotten she is in my hands now?" That caused to stop the guards in their tracks. He then turned serious, "Good, and stay back or else I'll let my fellow creatures come out and harm your beloved people of Hyrule."
They flinched at his words and took a step back. They looked at each other; they had families in there and didn't want harm to come to them. But their princess. They didn't want to lose her or even fail her again.
Dark Link hummed knowing he had victory in his side. Zelda felt the smooth vibrates in her back that came from him and shivered at the sound of his hum near her right ear. She didn't even liked him having his arm snaked around her slim waist and the way the cold radiated out of his hand covering her mouth. Her shocked was soon replaced by angry. She was tempted enough to fight against him to release his hold on her. The worst he could do was snap her neck, Zelda assumed.
Only before she could start struggling she froze on feeling a dark magic near her. The power radiating out of the kidnapper, himself. He's a dark sorcerer?! Zelda cried out in her mind. She mentally slapped herself. Of course he was. She recalled him zipping down to the ground to appear behind her. He had used dark magic to teleport.
What Zelda didn't know was that she only felt the tip of his dark magic. He sent out a full burst that the dark energy started to wrap around her and himself. Dozens of black wisps appeared out of thin air— connecting and merging together in a blur. The princess's cheeks paled at this, but her eyes did not dare to show her emotion too clearly in public—fear. The power felt different, but nonetheless it reminded her when Ganondorf had entered her body so easily to control it. Like a puppet. When she had returned to her body she felt the dirtiness it contained because of him.
The voices became distorted by now and a black curtain shroud her, Zelda couldn't see anything but only the darkness. The people gasped and gaped of their elder princess and her capturer sinking down into the ground after being covered by a black sheet. Impa rushed forward and fell into her knees, her hands seeking for her sister desperately.
"You're not afraid of the dark, are you Princess?" Dark Link taunted her. He sounded all around her. It was only by his arms around her that she knew he was still behind her. She wondered if he could hear her thunderous heartbeat like she could.
They traveled through the shadows and in the light inside a shadowy ball away from the theater. Thinking he got away Dark Link raised them up from the ground. The first thing she did was take a deep breath. She knew she was not wet, but being in the darkness felt like she was underwater. It was odd since she had been breathing, but being back up here it was like she wasn't breathing in the first place.
The shroud long lifted ago the princess glanced around to know her surroundings. She was on a bridge away from the Castle. Instantly she knew that she was in Northern Hyrule field.
She exhale and quickly elbow the man's abdominal. He let out a soft grunt, but still hold her close to him. Without thinking she let out a quiet curse and did it again. Two sharps of pain shot up her elbow to her brain. She ignored it than started to wiggle out of his grip despite the burn happening to her arms from it. He chuckled darkly, "My, what a mouth you have princess. Never thought I'll hear a curse escape your pretty little mouth."
A frowned from her than a replied.
Seeing that he wasn't going to let her go no matter what, Zelda begin to kick behind her blindly. Somehow he put up her struggles. Just when she thought he was finally letting his hold go a bit she felt a sudden pain on the back of her head. He had hit her.
"Sorry princess for that, but I can't have you causing me trouble or know my hiding place." He said.
She then black out.

Princess Zelda jerked awake to find herself in some unknown place.
On top of a king-size bed Zelda ran a hand over the dark red blanket. It felt little dusty in her fingertips. She looked at her surrounding to see few furniture in the room: A medium size closet cabinet, a fireplace that had a fire quieting popping, a bare desk, and a plain wooden chair.
There also happen to be a balcony next to the fireplace. Caution she got up to make her way to the doorway. I bet it will be lock, she bitterly thought. She was proven sadly right when she turned the knob and tried to open it only to fail. Sighing in defeat she took a step back.
She looked through the glass to see snow falling in a graceful manner while few others were blow into a circle before being blown away by a harsh wind. This had her thinking—no, hoping that she was still in Hyrule land at least. She plead to herself that it will be true.
Placing a hand on the cold window the young woman continued to stare outside. Nothing much expect for snow and a white and grayish background. She puzzled over if she should wait for her abductor to show himself or a servant to bring her a tray of food. She bitterly chuckled on that thought. History seems to be repeating itself, she apprehended.
She begin to trace a triforce on the window after huffing out hot air on the glass. She questioned on why Dark Link would capture her for. Not for Ganondorf for sure—she, herself, saw him killed by the Hero's hands, so why?
She shook her head. Could Dark Link be an older brother to Link, but why on the name? And how did her father knew him and thought of him long dead? A sigh escaped her lips. She had so many questions that needed answers.
The sudden question that contained about her father side-tracked all thoughts and questions about the Hero's dark lookalike. Lowering her head, the eldest princess wondered if her family were worried sick about her.
An exhausted sigh from the young woman she looked at her reflection with a determine gaze. An inhale and exhale escaped her pink lips as she clutched her fists. I will not be weak! I'll find a way back home then rather wait for a rescuer to come and rescue me!

Upon a lone throne sat a man holding onto a rose. A rose that was different—its petals more narrowed at the tips, and its color seemed as if blood had coated it. The man twirled it, watching its bloody petals spin in his fingers. A smile graced his features on the sight and thoughts on his mind.
He had her—hefinally had her! Finally after all this time the princess was his who currently was in one of the many rooms on top floor. He considered the Hero a fool for not getting the princess first in this life. Instead the Hero went home to be with one of the villager girls named, Ilia. Silly man indeed for choosing a mere girl when two powerful princess had secretly fall in love with him. Unlike him, he had wanted one of the princess for the longest time since he was created.
A low chuckle rolled out of his lips. Today was a great day indeed now. He smirked and merely glanced at the rose. The Bloody Rose of the Night it was called. At least what he had given it when Dark Link discovered it when he found this abandon castle. The dozen petals only opened when bathed in the moonlight and by its color of bloody red that was somewhat similar to his eyes color, so what better name then Bloody Rose of the Night?
He rose the hybrid rose up at the air and a thought came to him. The princess was the moon and he was the bloody rose. Fitting titles for them both indeed.
Dark Link rose up from his seat on the throne and placed the rose on it. He then stretched his back to hear a pleasant sound of bone popping in rhythm. The Hero's shadow grab the rose before he climbed down the three steps to which he heard the echoing of his footsteps around the large empty throne room. A turn to his left he went up a stairway. Entering the passageway he started to hum a dark yet sweet tune.
On one side of the corridor through the few windows that reveal the outside of a snowy mountain a cold breeze entered leaving single snows on the floor. He paid no heed to the coldness for he felt nothing on his skin. The night sky seemed bright letting in some of the light for him, but he was solely focus on the light underneath a door at the end of the corridor. A howl of the wind screamed in his ears that he strained to hear what was behind the door.
Was she up already?
Dark Link paused and let out a hum to which the wind tried to silence it. He continued on feeling excited without thinking on why. The double doors that would opened to her room had designs of monsters coming out of the ground with a few reaching for something out of reach in the sky. The unpolished golden door handles were loose had a few ancient hylians language crave in them. Dark Link never bothered to try to find the meaning of it long ago. He took off a silver key that had been hanging off of a large bent up nail that was half-way coming out of the thick brick wall.
This was it.
He was going to face her face-to-face. In fact, he never thought of what will happen next if he was to achieve of capturing the princess at all. He wasn't dumb though. She might escape him if she ever got the chance. But she couldn't live forever here. He wasn't immortal; he could just live longer than hylians.
He inserted the key and unlock it before he place it back in its place. He opened the door that release a groan of complaint to reveal a bright room. The first place he checked was the bed to find it empty and not made. He found her standing in front of the glass doors. He didn't make his presence known because he could see it in her eyes on the glass that she saw him.
She turned in a slow motion and took a deep breath. Only he spoke first, "Princess, I hope you are comfortable." He did a mocking bow at her with a smile.
She frowned at him and went right into business. "Why did you capture me, Dark Link? If it was for Ganondorf, then you should know by now that he is—"
He interrupted her, "Dead for over six months? I know, I know Princess."
"Then why?" She demanded. "If you want to declare war on Hyrule by taking me hostage first than you better stop now! If you want money—
Dark Link took long strides to reach her that caused her to stop and take a step back. She stop herself, however, and took a step forward to face him. He found it amusing that she was being so brave in front of him. So brave when facing evil.
How nice.
He grab her arm in a tight hold that she almost wince and leaned forward to his chest. She tried pushing his chest to let him loose his hold on her. It won't work on him. She froze and listen when he spoke to her.
"Because I'm selfish, my princess, I wanted you for the longest time that I couldn't bear it on waiting any longer. So I capture you today because what is to stop me?" Dark Link bended down and let out a breath on her ear.
She shivered on that and leaned back to the door.
"I want you. I need you. I love you, so why shouldn't I had taken you?" She stiffen when he took hold of her chin to make her look at him in the eyes. He saw that they had different skin tones as if she was lucky enough to feel the sun even for a few minutes a day.
Zelda dared not move from her spot and breathed out, "What if I don't love you back? You can't just keep me here forever."
He made no reply as he pushed her closer to his body to nuzzle her fragile neck that force her to tilt her neck to the right. A lick from his tongue he heard her made a sound of surprise that he started to nibble on her skin. Her breathing soon came out in short and quick intakes.
She placed her hands on his chest to at least push him away from her again, but he would have none of it. He bit her hard, sinking his teeth down on her soft, sweet skin. The warm blood took a few seconds to come out of the broken skin to enter his waiting mouth.
She gave out a cry of pain and used force to push him away from her with no effect. The Hero's shadow continued licking up her blood, not bothered by her failing attempts to be free of him who had a firm grip on her. He loved the taste of her blood. How sweet it was in his taste buds going down his throat. Even the scent she carried of blackberries and a hint of vanilla was marvelous to his nose.
The Hero didn't know what he was missing.
~1~1~1~1~1~
Princess Zelda took two steps back when Dark Link finally release her from his grip. Only her back hit the glass doors again to remind her that she can't take any more steps back. She clutched her injury neck and her face twisted into a form of pained expression. The veins inside her throat throbbed with hot blood and her hand got wet by it. She sent a glare when she saw him studying her form when he reached for something on the bed. He toss it toward her that she surprising caught it without a thought.
It appeared to look like a flower or more like an odd rose that she never seen before in her life. She snapped her eyes at him, her eyes accusing him of being crazy. Crazy for kidnapping her, biting and drinking her blood, and now giving her an odd rose!
He licked his lips and for a moment she grew worried that he might attack her again.
She reached for her magic just in case he did—she'll teach him a lesson then. She waved at the strange rose, and to distract him, asked, "It's odd, but beautiful. What is it called?" Great, she thought, now she was talking to her capturer as if he never bit her before.
Dark Link looked amuse for a second as he answered, "I call it the Bloody Rose of the Night, my Princess. It's for you and you only. Besides what is a Bloody Rose without its Moon?"
She had no answer for that question. He didn't mind on her lack on answer because he didn't expect her to give him one. A last mocking bow at her, he laughed, "I'll be back soon, my Princess. And, oh, I am very sure that you'll love me at the end. Until I come back… be a good little princess now."
She growled underneath her breath and when he turned around to leave she said out loud, "You're a monster." It stun him on the spot even though he heard those words so many times from other people, but to hear it from her lips, in her voice almost tear him apart. He regain his composure and smirked at her over his shoulder as if her words had no effect on him.
"Than what will be a hero if the monster had continued to live inside of him than walk among the shadows? I AM a monster and you are my princess that I can't let go now." He declared to her, shaking his head as if she should know this. As if she amused him with her choose of words to describe him.
Zelda stared at him in shock of his words that she simply watched him left the room and flinched when he shut the doors. She heard the doors locked in place but she didn't dare move a muscle yet. The only words that escaped her lips were, "I hate you."
She stood there fixed on staring at the door, her knuckles turning white from gripping the bloody rose too tight in her fist. All the information that she learned and what had happened came rushing toward her. She hated the fact that she was only here as prisoner because Dark Link loved her. The mixed sounds of his fading footsteps and the fire popping brought her back to reality.
She made her way to seek the warmth of the fireplace, feeling the warm air grow hotter on her skin. She shivered and wrapped her arms around her as if his touches still linger on her flesh. His touches had been cold to her core. Rising up her clutched fist that hold the rose to her view she had half the mind to toss it to the flames. But she didn't. She couldn't bear herself to do it. Moving back she sat on the bed and sigh in a heavy manner.
"Why?" She asked out loud. She placed the rose next to her and bowed her head only to feel the pain throbbing in her neck. Oh, right the wound, she thought wearily. She looked at the glass doors to see her refection to find hot blood linking down her slender throat to her dress. She didn't care that her dress was getting ruin by the minute. She need dressings for her wound if she didn't want infection and to stop the bleeding.
The first thing she went for was the dresser cabinet and open it to reveal mostly nothing inside. On the bottom stood a dirty green vase. She stared at it the longest time before picking it up and kicking the door close behind her. Cleaning it with the bottom of her dress she placed it on the desk. She placed the rose in it and took a step back to admire it. Knowing that it will need water later she pull out the pillow case and pressed it to her neck.
She winced on the sharp pain, but nonetheless continued pressing on it. She laid down and willed herself not to cry. The tears didn't care as they spilled from her blue eyes. A sob escaped her lips as she placed an arm over her eyes. For twenty years she pulled up a mask to cover her emotions. Twenty years of not crying. Until now. She didn't care that this man loved her—he had no right to steal her away from her home.
He wanted her.
He loved her.
She considered his words: And, oh, I very sure that you'll love me at the end. He did said so sure on his words. She wiped her face and let out a soft hiccup. Did she loved him? Will she love him at the end? The answer was simple.
No.
No, of course not…
Maybe.
She growled in frustration and laid on her side where her head rested on a pillow. Her hand still pressed on the cover on her neck. He looked so like the Link that saved her kingdom. The love that she couldn't help but fall in love with. Just looking at Dark Link pulled some heartstrings so hard that she had to force herself to push the emotions to aside. Until he bit her that is!
That was why she had called him a monster. To let both of them know that he wouldn't be receiving any love from her. Even those words of 'I hate you' slipped out of her mouth. Now thinking of that she wanted to regret saying those three words and puzzle if he heard her on that.
She pushed all thoughts aside and thought—no, needed!—a bath. A warm bath sounded so good to her right now. She recalled when she was just a young girl that her mother once told her that a warm bath can get rid of stress or negative feelings. She even recalled her mother murmuring to herself of how a nice massage from her father was enjoyable too and had sighed happily.
That was before she was taken.
She rose herself halfway up, ready to knock on the door to call for Dark Link, but paused. Yes, she wanted a bath and maybe to relieve herself since there was no bathroom in this room, however, did she wanted Dark Link back in here? And worst she didn't know how the guards were like outside her door if there were any. No, she would not call for Dark Link yet. She'll just had to wait until he came back. Then she'll tell him of her request.
The throbbing remind her of her wound and she exclaimed out loud, "By the three Goddesses, did he really need to bite my neck?" She popped back on the bed and told herself that she just rest for a bit. She yawned and glanced at the rose. Odd but beautiful. She fell asleep on the tempo of the throbbing pain. And in her sleep her magic slowly stopped the bleeding.

Galloping through the Hyrule Field underneath the full moon Dark Link felt the cold breeze on his face. He closed his eyes and smiled on the feel. Underneath him his horse, Eon, snorted that he opened his eyes. He lazily glanced down to see his horse's hooves not quite touching the ground. The black creature nodded its head when the Hero's shadow patted it.
Dark Link looked around to see the scenery. Only they were out and about in the fields at this time that the only creatures were crickets, fireflies, owls, and few bats. In his right side he could hear the river flowing.
"Let's go on home, Eon."
Eon snorted and broke into a run. Dark Link smirked as the mountain wall crept closer and closer to them. He peek over his shoulder for a last glance on Hyrule Castle without its princess. The lights shine through its many windows giving a halo all around the castle. The halo fought back against the night sky from coming closer. The castle so alive and bright. So different than his castle—dark and lifeless before the princess was brought.
Pushing the bundle of dresses closer to his chest Dark Link rose his free hand toward the wall and unleash his Dark Magic. He whispered a few ancient hylian language that he had bothered to learn and a dark purple orb form and release from his hand. It flew and landed at the wall that formed a large circle that had three ancient symbols upside down. As it had appeared it soon vanish to reveal a passage.
They entered to be greeted by a harsh gust of snowy wind. He didn't shivered on the contact as his skin turned to dark grey and his hair a lighter shade of grey. The passaged then closed and became a rocky wall again behind them.
The snow was threw up into the air and blow away from the powerful gallops of the horse that became almost see through. Dark Link narrowed his red eyes to see a dark form of a tower in the snowy mist. Indeed, the castle became into focus in his view that little by little became towering over the rider and its horse. The mountain stood behind the castle in a faraway distance.
Upon the staircase leading up to the castle entrance he allowed Eon to climb the stairs as he once again looked over the dresses. He had only manage get three dresses that he had thought would like nice on the princess before he was discovered. An old man that tried to put up a fight against him as he cried out 'Thief, thief! Guards, a thief is here!' to the night sky.
Dark Link smirked on the foolish actions the old man did. Trying to be Hero? He had thought when he sliced the throat to slice the bothersome noises he was making. Will die as a 'Hero' who failed then. He then left before the guards could arrive.
At the entrance Eon stopped that Dark Link got off and patted its neck. "Thanks, buddy. Next time I'll remember to feed you an apple." Eon snorted and rubbed its head on his shoulder. Dark Link chuckled and went to open the door. Behind him Eon vanished into the wind as a shadowy mist.
The doors towering over him by twelve feet more, the Hero's shadow opened one of them. The harsh wind helped him out by dragging it to halfway before stopping. The sound of the door being force opened ring loud and clear in the main hall. The snow from outside came rushing in to the floor. Dark Link stepped in and closed the door with hard force. With one free hand he patted the snow out of his fading gray hair and shook himself.
His skin and hair return to normal as he made his way upstairs. He wondered if the princess was still awake because he craved to see her again. To give her these dresses as gifts. He knew he didn't take long, maybe around two hours the most. He quickly took long strides to reach the door that kept her prisoner in a room and stopped. He found himself nervous—nervous for good sakes!—of the recall of what she had called him.
A monster.
There was no declining it. He wasn't like Link, his nicer 'brother' who was a Hero loved by many and loved by her. So, yes he could be a monster. A monster that loved a princess. No reason to be nervous at all because he'll make sure that she'll love him at the end.
He cracked open the door after unlocking it to find the woman he loved asleep. He grinned at the sight and walked in after closing the door in a quiet and slow motion. He paused when he entered the room completely to see the rose that he had given her in a somewhat dirty vase on the desk. He tilted his head at the scene feeling… surprise and happy.
His eyes glanced at both the princess and at the rose. The information sunk in and the grin widen at his little joke. He was the bloody rose and princess Zelda was his full moon. He didn't even bother on wanting to know how on Hyrule she found the vase in this room.
Dark Link moved to the side of the bed and studied her. Her face was relax and peaceful-like with her lips an inch open. Her breathing was soft and slow. He shivered and moved a hair strand out of her face. He breathe into her ear but she didn't twitch in her sleep. "Princess, you're extremely pretty as you sleep. And thank you… for liking the bloody rose."
He tossed the dresses on the other side of the bed and bended back to face the sleeping princess. He touched her pale pink lips with his thumb. Again, Link didn't know what he was missing. Not waiting any longer he kiss her with a gentle force. He closed his eyes to savor her taste against his lips. When she didn't twitch he pressed harder, rougher, and snaked a hand on the back of her head to push her forward.
She snapped open her eyes and whimpered in confusion. Seeing who was kissing her for the first time she gasp in shocked against his lips and blushed bright red on her cheeks. But she wasted no time for her eyes to flash to angry and pushed him away from her. He didn't put up a fight and willingly back away with a grin.
"What was that for?" She snapped at him and moved further into the middle of the bed.
He shrugged and she placed her fingers on her lips to shield them from him or because they got abuse moments ago. He didn't really know. Unless she never been kissed before. He found himself pleased on that sweet thought. He licked his lips to still taste her lips on his.
"Because I wanted to kiss you, that's why my Princess. I couldn't resist after all," He stated so honestly with an innocent smile to go with the words.
She frowned and opened her mouth to say something rude about that. Until he sat down on the bed. She instantly scout away when he leaned closer to her and shut her mouth. She pick up her legs and his eyes landed on them. She moved the blanket from underneath her and placed it on top of her legs after she put them down back on the bed. Her fingers then played with a nervous fashion on the edge of the blanket.
He reached past her to grab the dresses, loving the fact of the princess freezing up of him being too close to her liking again. He dropped them on her lap and she stared at them confused show clearly on her face.
"My gifts for you," He whispered in her ear and she shivered.
She had nothing to say only to pick up one dress with a sad look in her eyes. He found it hated it. She shouldn't be sad—he wanted her to be happy—anything than that emotion because she was supposed to be a strong woman—a goddess in her own right. Unless… of course she was human and not a creature—a monster—like him who hardly cared for depression emotions that can bear down a soul to the ground. The sound of the fire popping seemed faint as he studied her face.
However she widen her eyes when she found something in one of the dresses.
"Wait, this dress has blood stains on it!" She exclaimed as she rose the last dress of a lavender sleeveless dress to show him. He winced and cursed in his mind to the foolish old man. In the front chest there laid a large gash of dried blood and many different sizes of blood spots. "Ugh, I can't believe it—you stole theses, didn't you?! And you murdered someone. Someone that was one of my people, wasn't it?" She hissed at him.
The realization dawned at her. "You murdered someone… someone who probably got in your way," Princess Zelda muttered.
He rolled his eyes. "Princess, even you said yourself that I was a monster and I am a monster, so don't you dare forget that now." Despite him hating hearing the word monster slipped out of his lips he said it so calmly. Even though he wanted to force that word out instead.
She looked at him stunned. She grab his tunic in her clasped fists and stared at him with pleading eyes. "Please, I'm begging you—let me go back home! If you're anything at all like Link, you'll let me go."
He grab her hands and clenched his teeth. "Sorry, but I'm nothing like your little hero and news flash he doesn't love you back!"
She started to struggled and cried out in frustration, "Will I don't love you, Dark Link!"
That stunned him and he growled in warning when he snapped back. He force her to lay down and placed each hand on each side of her head. She cried out in surprise, but bit her lips and stared back at his eyes in a challenge. He could feel the cravings wanting out just by looking at her eyes and hovering over her body. The cravings of lust, greed—
He leaned down to lick her neck on the opposite side of her wounded side. She moved her head as far away as possible. He stopped by using his willpower before continuing on.
"I don't believe you, my princess, and besides… didn't I say that I will be sure that you will love me at the end?" He replied with an icy and bitter tone. He force himself to get off the bed and not look back when he opened the doors. Not even one glance before the doors were slammed back in place. The impact of it being heard clearly around the castle and followed him with taunting words.
