Warm Velvet
I longed to touch the smooth face
I longed to touch the silky skin,
I longed to touch the shining hair,
I longed to touch the velvet lining
I wish for a gentle hand,
A soft voice, calming presence,
I wish for a peaceful glimmer,
In eyes so loving, so tender
I beg to touch the warm velvet,
Her beauty, never dying.
I beg to feel the warm velvet,
Her song so entrancing
Her giggles and voice ringing so clear,
Her keenness so pleasing,
I want to see her dance with me,
I want to see her reclining
I live in no peace, no peace there is
I live in a death-filled world
I brew sleep and concoct death,
I mock those absurd
I see all evil, speak it as well
I am not innocent, I confess
I am too fast, too fast with myself
I live in no place to dwell
I long to see and feel my warm velvet
I long to see her smile,
I long to see her wisped into my arms
I long to see her when I die
Warm velvet, where for out thou lye?
I seek you yonder life
Warm velvet, I reach out for your cry,
I search all around this earth
You are my peace, my only hope
My life and all as well
You are my soul, my heart and mind,
My life entirely I foretell
Warm velvet, I wish for you,
Long, desire, wait and hope
Warm velvet, I cannot aspire
Once you are out of my world…
