Smile {AKA Things Not Thought Of}
Amanda McKay laughs lightly in disbelief – more at herself than him – uttering:
"That's probably why..."
And how had she not worked that out?
She is completely unable to stifle the blinding smile that has forced its way onto her face. A full, unadulteratedly joyful smile, which nothing he's said has really warranted – or has only warranted because he's her Simon. Or at least she'd like him to be hers.
Involuntarily, slowly, Simon's own lips pull into an easy, affection filled smile, and at this moment he wonders exactly when seeing her smile became the absolute, unquestionable highlight of his day.
