Little Buddy spent most of his afternoons at the superhero fan club, this was the best place to meet the supers, both young and old, veterans and upcoming supers.
Buddy was considered an outcast by his fellow peers, bullied for being different, his family didn't have much money and so his clothes were dirty and he often wore the same thing, over and over again.
Gazerbeam also known as Simon was a regular at the club, so he saw Buddy a lot, sitting by the usual table, with his oversized rocket boots resting on the table as he flips though the same magazine that was filled with images of the supers each afternoon.
Simon was intrigue by this boy and couldn't understand why he was so lonely, though causal chit, chat, Simon would find out a lot about this boy and would soon, understand why Buddy is considered an outcast like himself.
Simon made a promise to the young boy that they will meet up every Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, Buddy would soon start opening up a bit more about himself, the kindness that Simon had shown him had given him a new-found appreciation for the supers that protect the people.
Buddy would than tell Simon about how much he admired Mr. Incredible, Simon knows that Buddy knows a lot about his heroes, but he could tell Mr. Incredible was something special, out of all the supers, Mr. Incredible held a special place in Buddy's heart.
Simon sees Buddy as hero material, he may not of powers but his gadgets were impressive, what super could deny this young boy's talents?
Simon may be shy and somewhat awkward, but he is thoughtful and smart. And he knows that somewhere deep-down Buddy's feelings for Mr. Incredible, are a little more than just admiration but he is ten years old and doesn't understand them completely.
Simon decided that it was time to for Buddy to meet his idol, the boy was lonely, bullied and didn't have a friend in the world, if he can meet his idol than maybe that could lift his spirits.
The following week arrived and Buddy was at the same spot, reading his magazine, flipping though the pages, Gazerbeam approached the club with Mr. Incredible, knowing exactly where the fan was, Simon led Bob to the back of the club.
'' That's Buddy, your biggest fan "said Simon
Mr. Incredible gazed at his fan, tracing his every movement, his rocket boots slightly going off as they rested on the table, there was a vibe coming from that boy. Although Simon kept on going on, Bob's attention was on Buddy.
They walked over to him, Buddy looked up and smiled, thanking Simon for making his dream come true. Simon than left the pair alone, although only 10 years of age, Buddy thought of his meeting with Mr. Incredible as love at first sight. Though in the hero's mind it was just another fan greeting.
The elder man decided to treat his fan, by taking him for a spin in his iconic car, the hero didn't have much time and asked Buddy if there was anything else, he wanted to do, Buddy requested that they go the Mr. Incredible fan club, it only seem fitting.
They were the only ones there at the time and this gave Buddy the chance to tell his idol everything he knows about him and to show him some of his gadgets. What he thought was just going to be another greeting, turned out to be the beginning of a friendship and it was all thanks to Simon. However little did Simon know that he started a fire that could never be put out.
