I'm on a definite Harry Potter kick now. Hopefully I'll get a new chapter of More than you Know out soon...

He had finished putting the sword in the lake and looked around once last time, suitably pleased that the conditions for Potter to claim the sword would be met.

He called forth his Patronus and sent it off into the darkness. Though he longed to leave he knew that Potter couldn't be couldn't on to not die, so he settled in behind a tree to wait.

Snape had been keeping tabs on Weasley ever since the boy has abandoned his merry little band of friends, and he had already sent a Patronus to guide the boy to the clearing as well.

He waited impatiently until the light of his Patronus came into view and wondered again at Potter's ability to kill the Dark Lord, given the fact that the boy had willingly followed an unknown Patronus alone, at night, into the woods.

The Headmaster watched closely as Potter finally exhibited some intelligence and looked around the area. His wand was lit and he tried to Summon the sword to him. Failing in that, Snape watched as he cracked the ice loudly and flinched at the noise.

Potter's damn lucky that I made sure the Snatchers were nowhere near this site tonight.

The Boy-Who-Lived started to pull off his heavy sweater and Snape could appreciate the logic; the garment would only weigh him down in the water.

He watched confusedly as the boy continued to strip, right down to his underwear, and stood next to the edge- cast a warming charm first you dolt!

He saw Potter shiver and knocked his head lightly against the tree, cursing Potter's idiocy. He squinted for a moment, trying to make out what was around the boy's neck.

It's a rather ostentatious necklace- surely he would remove it before jumping in…damn! Is that? It can't be the Horcrux? Even Potter wouldn't be stupid enough to carry it around with him and then enter a potentially deadly situation with a cursed object around his neck.

The resounding splash was Snape's only answer as Potter jumped into the water, the locket still around his neck.

Snape took several steps out from behind the tree without a conscious thought, cursing Harry bloody Potter the entire time. The water was churning with some unseen struggle and Snape imagined that the Horcrux was dragging Potter down, trying to drown him.

Bloody idiot. How stupid can you get? Damned Dumbledore.

He continued to move forward, real panic working its way to the forefront of his mind, and there was still no sign of Potter at the water's surface. A second later movement caught his eye and he froze.

A form ran to the edge of the water, shucking a jacket off and diving in after Potter.

Snape tried to breathe normally and finally managed to do so a minute later when both figures had safely reached the frozen earth.

Red hair gave away Weasley, and Snape stalked away, satisfied that Potter was alive and had the sword, although he did send two nonverbal warming charms at the two idiots.
