It had been ages since they were on a date. With Charlie still working in Romania with dragons and Draco as a student to finish his final Hogwarts year it was never easy to find a day for a date. But they managed it and it had been a nice date for now. Both sat at Madam Puddifoots and enjoyed their tea. Charlie knew that his personal dragon had a sweet tooth.
"And you're sure that you want to work with dragons? You know that your skin will get scars and burn marks? And it's not easy. You have to do every kind of work, even the unpleasant things like cleaning the pits."
Draco sighed. They had this conversation for a few months now. It was kind of cute that the Weasley was so concerned but it could be annoying. Like now. He just wanted to enjoy their date and this stupid redhead disturbed the peaceful atmosphere.
"I already have scars. And I would trade them for burn and scratch marks, believe me. You do not have to worry, even though it is cute that you worry about me. But you have to accept it. Or you can end the relationship."
The dragon tamer sighed. He just did not want to lose anyone else. He already lost so much. His brother Fred, his uncles and dragons. Charlie did not want to lose anyone else.
"No, I...I'm just worried, Draco. I know that you worked for Voldemort but...this is still different. I'm just worried that I – "
Charlie stopped when he heard a familiar roaring sound. He looked out of the window to see if he was right. And he was right. A Common Welsh Green was on a roof. He seemed to be hurt and whipped his tail at wizards and buildings. The dragon tamer got up immediately and looked towards his boyfriend.
"I'm sorry but duty calls...we'll repeat the date tomorrow, I promise!"
He kissed him before he ran outside to take care of the dragon. Charlie did not remember that England had many trained dragon tamers and he could handle a horntail or ironbelly so this was nothing. Draco was annoyed. This stupid dragon disturbed their date. But maybe...this would be the chance to show Weasley that he could handle such situations. So he followed him.
Charlie already reached the dragon and used stunning spells to subdue him. It was hard since he was the only one who knew how to handle a dragon. Draco was a few minutes later next to him. Sure, he read many books about dragons but he had never been that close to a real one. Without thinking much about what could happen Malfoy began to help Charlie. He knew which spells he needed to use and after ten minutes they were able tie a rope around the dragon's snout. With a few more ties the dragon was tied together. Charlie already took care of a transport. The dragon had to get help.
It did not take long and Charlies co-workers took over.
"So? Are you still afraid that I can not take care of myself..?"
Draco crossed his arms in front of his chest and waited for an apology. The Weasley chuckled and hugged him instead.
"Alight...but don't tell me that I did not warn you!"
"Whatever. But I want another date. Now. We still have some time left until I have to go back..."
Charlie sighed and nodded. After all, nobody could argue with a Malfoy.
