I don't like this ship.

Sleepstar's Author's note: This is my first attempt on a Titanic fic. I don't own anything, all characters belong to history. This is told in Officer Wilde's point of view. On to the fic.

March 1912.

I carefully re-read the letter I wrote to my sister. There was something not quite right about that new ship, and I knew it. I looked up at the location the ship was registered. Liverpool! Where I live! The ship is called Titanic, and my name is Henry. T. Wilde Jr. , and I am a White Star officer. The ships of the line ends with "ic".

April 6th 1912

The crew members are being hired today, but I have to set sail with the Titanic. There's something wrong with her.

April 10th 1912

The Titanic sets sail, and I've been on board since Six this morning. There was a lot to do on board before the passengers get on. Captain Smith is due to retire at the end of the trip.

April 14th 1912

Four days later, on the Atlantic Ocean. We stopped at Queenstown to drop off the letters, a day after we stopped at Cherbourge. The wireless staff had been busy since the beginning of the voyage, with messages coming from other ships in the area.

Later on.

I was in my cabin when I felt a jolt and the sound of torn metal. I got out and saw people talking.

"We hit an iceberg" they were saying. Smith came forward and told me about a plan. We were to fill the lifeboats with passengers and lower them. I went to the locker room and pulled out several were to use them to ease the crowds of passengers going on board the lifeboats.

April 15th 1912, 12:30am

The lifeboats can hold 1,300 passengers if they were all full, and there is 2,200 people. I noticed a few boats leave with a dozen people,or up to a hundred. The distress rockets were being fired. and the ship is starting to go down. I saw Miss Rose DeWitt going down the staircases.

Several hours later

The last lifeboats have gone, and there is just the ones left on the ship. The old couple were talking, both made up their minds not to go on board. The ship began to rise up, and all one thousand, five hundred plus left were holding on to the rails. The ship is going down, into the water, and then it had vanished. I climbed on a plank of wood, and began to blow my whistle, calling for a lifeboat or two to come and pick the rest of us. After a while, I began to feel no movement. Then blackness went over me.

I opened my eyes and stared around me. The place looked different, and I saw my wife. "Hello Henry" she said to me. I looked for my whistle I had on me when I was on a plank of wood, but it had gone. "Where is it?" I cried out, but she whispered "Rose DeWitt used it to call for a lifeboat, after you died" Then I heard another voice, and my older brother came to me. "Fredrick!" I haven't seen him since he died eleven years before. "It's been a while, haven't it?" he asked me. "Yes, it had been a while" Captain Smith, Officer Murdoch and Officer Moody emerged. "Come on, Henry. Let's show you around the place" I followed my wife and we all went off.

The end.

Author's note two: Thought you would like to know, I mentioned Fredrick in the last scene, who was, by the way, Henry's older brother.
