Quote Prompt: "It was raining when we met."

I hope you all like it! :)

A cold wind was whisking through the pitch black night, making the two people that were sitting in the bushes nearby a small cottage shiver and pull their thick cloaks even tighter around their shoulders.

"He is not doing anything. This is pointless," Sirius Black growled and his partner for this night, Emmeline Vance, was happy for the Muffliato charm they had put up before starting their observation. "I am bored, Emmeline."

"And you think I am not?" Emmeline Vance rolled her eyes, pushing her dark hair of her shoulders while asking herself why she had agreed on this little observation mission.

What had they expected? That You-Know-Who would just walk by with a bottle of wine to discuss his plans with some random Death Eater?

"I need something to do, otherwise I will go crazy!"

"Think, for a change," she grinned and he poked her in the rips with his elbow, chuckling lightly, the lack of action making it hard for them to concentrate.

"No, seriously. We could play a game while waiting for nothing to happen," Sirius suggested and Emmeline shrugged her shoulders – anything that could give her something to do now was okay for her.

"Or I could impress you with my poetic skills."

Emmeline furrowed her brows and looked at him. Sirius was known for his flirting lines, but poems seemed to be a little bit to classy for someone who changed his women faster than the moon changed its shape.

"Poems. You? Don't be ridiculous."

"I will prove you wrong, Miss! Listen carefully, it is going to be a poem about you, my dear!"

Sirius brought his most charming smile to his face, this one that had the girls melt away when they had been in school and took her hand into his in a dramatic gesture.

Emmeline felt a distant tingle shooting from her fingers through her whole body, but she acted unimpressed as Sirius cleared his throat and started his attempt:"It was raining when we met..."

"Oh no no, shut up! You, Mister, are the worst poet I ever heard. This is a standard start," Emmeline exclaimed, glaring at him in faked anger while Sirius answered dryly:"But it was raining when we first met. Don't you remember? Second day at Hogwarts, you ran into me on the way to our first Herbology lesson. We were both soaking wet and I knew you definitely did not feel pretty in that moment, but your eyes were the only thing I was paying attention to anyway."

At first Emmeline was not sure if he was only trying to make fun of her, but his gray eyes were lacking the mischievous twinkle that normally indicated how he meant a comment and she gulped, feeling her heart race. This situation was stressing her, his behaviour was just so unfamiliar for her – she only knew his jokes, but this serious side was making her feel uncomfortable.

"Well... that was a different start... but you really should practise a little bit more."

Her laugh sounded a little bit forced as she playfully punched his shoulder and turned back around to watch the house again, feeling how her hands trembled in nervousness.
