"A Fast Learner"
Katara sat there, feeding the turtleducks, while her daughter, Shaina, played nearby. It was a spring day and very warm outside.
As Katara watched Shaina playing some sort of pretend game, she smiled. She enjoyed watching all three of her children have fun, but Katara enjoyed watching Shaina smile the most.
As Katara turned around to feed a turtleduck, she heard Shaina shout, "Mama look! Watch this!"
Katara whirled around just in time to see Shaina controlling a tiny ball of water with both hands. She grinned up at Katara, knowing she had done something good.
"Mama, did you see me?" Shaina asked, a smile spreading across her five-year-old innocent features.
Katara nodded as she came over and embraced her pride and joy. She loved all three of her children, but Shaina was her favorite by far.
"Yes I did. I'm so proud of you, sweetheart! You just waterbended!"
Shaina nodded, knowing exactly what she had done.
"Can Grandpa Pakku teach me like he taughted you?"
Katara giggled as she picked her daughter up and gave her a hug.
"It's taught. And I'm sure Grandpa Pakku would be happy to teach you."
Shaina grinned at this. She had wanted to learn from her grandfather for a long time now.
Just then, Sokka came out of the palace, looking for something to do. He was bored and figured he would see what his 'Tara was up to.
Shaina saw him before Katara did. A mysterious glint twinkled in her kind brown eyes and she readied her attack.
Shaina waited until Sokka was mere inches away from them before launching her newly formed waterball at him.
Splash! The ball hit its target squarely in the head.
"Awww! What was that for?" Sokka whined, ringing his now soaked hair out.
Katara laughed at this, while giving Shaina a kiss.
"Well, I have to say, she's a fast learner." The waterbending master commented, while grinning down at her daughter. "A fast learner indeed."
