Why Does Hotaru Love Crabs, Anyway?

"I'm hungry, Mom." Little Hotaru tugged the hem of her mother's skirt.
"You're just in time, Hotaru. I made cookies." Hotaru's mom handed her a plate.
"Thanks." Hotaru quietly walked to the living room.
On the way, she found a penny on the floor. Her eyes did that dollar sign then she picked it up and placed it in her pocket. Her mother saw that, and she couldn't help but smile. Her daughter was indeed special.
Meanwhile, Hotaru sat on the couch and flicked open the television. Spongebob Squarepants was on air.
Perch Perkins: First of all, congratulations, Mr. Krabs.
Mr Krabs: Hello, I like money.
Perch Perkins: What inspired you to build a second Krusty Krab right next to the original?
Mr. Krabs: Money!
...
"Baka. I wouldn't have wasted the money for a second one right next to the original." Hotaru murmured. She ate while she continued watching Spongebob. She liked the humor of the show. Or maybe just Mr. Krabs' money-lust.
The next day, at the same time, she turned the TV on.
Mr Krabs: Back then, a Krabby Patty only cost a dime. It was a dark and evil time. I still have nightmares.
And the next day...
Mr. Krabs: Wait, don't shoot! Okay, okay, shoot me, but not the money!"
And the next...
Spongebob: Look at me, I'm Mr. Krabs! I love money!
Mr. Krabs: Say, that ain't half bad.
Spongebob: I once won a marathon because someone dropped a penny on the finish line.
Mr. Krabs: That's me, all right.
Spongebob: Every night I tuck me wallet in and tell it a bedtime story. Good night, Wallety.
Mr. Krabs: Yeah. Okay, I get the point...
Spongebob: Oh, what's that you say? Me daughter Pearl needs an operation? I'll do it meself and save a nickel.
[laughs]
Mr. Krabs: That'll do, SpongeBob.
And the *yawn* next...
Mr. Krabs: Am I really going to defile a grave for money? Of course I am!
And the...
Mr. Krabs: Are you on allergy medication, boy?
Spongebob: No, Mr. Krabs. I'm practicing my karate... or kara-te, as some call it.
Mr. Krabs: Kara-te? You should be making money-e, with your spatu-le.
Sandy: I love karate.
Spongebob: I love kara-te.
Mr. Krabs: I love money-e.
Squidward: I hate all of you.
...The next day...
Mr. Krabs: If you're wasting time, you're wasting money... and that's just sick.
…
"Hotaru," Her mom called. "I'm going grocery shopping. What would you want for dinner?"
Hotaru blinked. She glanced at the TV then back at her mom. "Crab."
One night, I was thinking of Hotaru, and the first thing that popped in my head was crab and money. I put two and two together and summed up with Mr. Krabs. I found it cool, so I decided to write about it :)
