well, if that is it, then here we go!
It began years ago.
Back when Dan was younger, but not before he knew he was a demigod. Before Dan began spending more and more of his time at camp training, and most definitely before he got the large custom made watch that he now almost never takes off of his wrist.
If you asked Dan, he would typically say that he was going into the forest to train and would be staying there all day. If you followed him, he would usually find out and send you back to camp. If you didn't get caught, however, you would catch Dan enter a clearing, fiddle about with something on his watch and then vanish.
Yes, vanish.
Totally and completely vanish.
For the first few years, he would vanish to a city called Raleigh, located in North Carolina. However, about the time he turned 16, he began to vanish off of the face of the earth.
Gone, poof, disappeared.
Yet, he would always return in time for dinner and would always sleep in his cabin during the night.
In the morning, he would get up at a fairly normal time, eat breakfast, grab his twin stygian iron swords, pull on his jacket, and disappear into the woods. There, he would vanish.
No, it was not his demigod abilities that enabled him to vanish- it was the watch. Dan's watch was what enabled him to vanish, but there was only one place he could vanish to. That place was Raleigh, North Carolina and it was his secret.
Not even Director Zavid or Dan's father knew where he vanished to, or even why he vanished. The where, I have already told you. The why? Why, that takes a little more explaining.
