This story takes place after Sasuke leaves Konoha. Sakura and Naruto are left with nothing when he leaves, confused and saddened by his leaving they wonder around Konoha in a lost state.
We start off with Naruto who is sitting upon an all to familiar spot. The bridge, on which he, Sasuke and Sakura used to meet Kakashi.

Sakura was on the opposite side of Konoha on the training field where she had often watched Sasuke train.

Naruto hops down from the bridge and begins to think deeply for the first time in his life.

Both Naruto and Sakura stop and stare up at the clear blue sky. They wonder where he is.

Sakura starts to remember all the missions with Sasuke and the time they spent together.

Naruto remembders the vows Sasuke had made when they first became cell 7. He ws determined to complete his at any cost...Naruto wished he could help him, but...he knew he could not.

Naruto and Sakura both again begin to realize that Sasuke never really cared for them. He only protested them because it was his mission, his job to do so. They begin to think that he abandoned his village for his own selfish reasons and that he was now a lost cause.

So Naruto and Sakura try to move on as though they never met him, as though they hadn't had another teammate...but how do you forget,...someone you cared so much about?...
