I was watching manitoug15's Ouran the Abridged Series, episode 2, and I got to thinking, what if something (maybe the kiss with Kanako, maybe something else) caused Haruhi to discover that she preferred girls over boys.
Rumiko is a character invented by me to discover Tamaki's reaction to finding out that Haruhi has a girlfriend.

Tamaki stared at Haruhi, blinking as he tried to erase the image that had been burned into his retinas. He could hear the twins hysterical ramblings, as they tried to come up with an explanation for the sight in front of them other than the obvious truth. Kyouya was openly staring, mouth wide, his notebook laying on the floor where he had dropped it.
This was a situation that none of them could have prepared for. They had indeed come together, the four of them, to discuss their growing feelings for the oblivious girl. They had even talked about the probability that Haruhi would eventually fall for someone outside of their small circle, but this.... Nothing like this had ever come up.
Haruhi had looked up when the notebook had hit the floor and was watching the four stricken hosts with an amused light in her eyes, not the slightest bit affected by her own rumpled clothing and mussed hair.
"What's wrong? Never seen two girls kissing before?" The girl whose lap she was practically sitting on blushed, ducking to hide behind the female host. "Haruhi." She complained.
"B-but... Haruhi!" Tamaki finally managed to stammer out, "You shouldn't be that close with someone your daddy hasn't met!"
"You're not my father." Haruhi told him sternly, causing him to shrink away, "But I'll introduce you anyway." She gestured to the boys, who were still standing in the doorway, staring. "Rumiko, you know the hosts. Hosts, this is Rumiko Fujita, my girlfriend."
Tamaki fainted with a shriek as the twins grabbed each other, as if to wake themselves up from the nightmare of their new reality. Kyouya just stared.
