Dontrel entered the room. Blood immediately flowed in from the walls, going up to Rarity's ankles. Rarity had gotten used to the sensation of blood covering her hooves, and had started putting her dresses higher up in the middle of her room. For most people, this would be unacceptable, but for Rarity, the loving comfort of Dontrel more than outweighed the damage to the wood floor, and the occasional damage to the dresses called by the fish falling from the ceiling. Theirs was a bond formed in heaven. There was no romance as perfect as theirs, the romance between Rarity and Dontrel, two immensely creative souls who both had a passion for what they did. While Rarity experimented with the texture and composition of fabrics, Dontrel experimented with the texture and composition of realities themselves. Some, such as Sweetie Belle, may have felt as if Dontrel's experiments were too morbid and painful, but Rarity felt the crimson red of Dontrel's blood added a lot to the decor of the Carousel Boutique, and the splashing of the fish when they hit the water provided an interesting context to the normal unmoving nature of the rest of the rooms. While Rainbow Dash may think that dating a dolphin was "the dumbest thing she'd ever heard," and Dash's pained screams rang through her ears when she saw the blood, Rarity knew her friend was not quite the brightest bulb in the drawer.
Ah, Rainbow Dash. Such a buffoon. She had convinced the entire Apple family that Dontrel was a threat, rather than the lovable but misunderstood sweetheart that he was. Rainbow had went on and on about how he had attacked her. That gash on Rainbow's leg had probably been there already. Dash was always trying to pull of crazy stunts, and probably didn't want to lose face with the rest of Ponyville, and so invented this lie to frame Dontrel for her own stupidity. Applejack, the idiot, had bought it hook, line, and sinker. Of course, Rarity's testimony didn't matter to her. "Brainwashed," they called her. "Reduced to an insane cultist," they said. "Ha," the fabulous pony scoffed at them. "You simply don't appreciate the merits of a true artist."
So what if Sweetie Belle didn't believe her. If she didn't like it, she could go back to living with her parents. All the brat did was make a mess and complain about being covered in blood. What an annoying little snot. Some called her "cute," but her constant whining was anything but. Anyone who got between her and Dontrel was a threat, and Rarity made sure to let Sweetie Belle know that if anything happened to Dontrel, that she would be out of there. Sweetie sullenly agreed, knowing she had no power over the situation and no means of recourse. Life was looking up for Rarity.
Unfortunately for Rarity, when Sweetie Belle opened the door, the blood spilled out onto her hooves, and the hooves of Applejack and Big Mac. Rainbow Dash quickly scooped up Sweetie Belle and quickly flew her away to safety before returning. Big Mac kicked Dontrel down with his powerful hooves, before being sucked into an extra-dimensional portal. Applejack tried her buck to buck the now-risen dolphin before being throw backwards into Rainbow Dash. Dash caught her and set her back down before accelerating rapidly around the boom and preforming a Sonic Rainboom into Dontrel. Blue feathers flew about the room. As the blood drained, Rainbow Dash was revealed, and Big Mac feel from the ceiling. Dontrel was nowhere in sight.
Rarity looked at the sight before her, and grasped the salmon before her. She wept for her perfect love.
