It hurts Matt,
I can see it,
Even with his goggles,
Even with his walls up.
Maybe now that Mello ignores him,
Maybe now that Mello rejects him,
He will accept me...
He won't,
I know,
I shouldn't get my hopes up.
Matt is loyal to Mello,
And only Mello.
It frustrates me.
If Matt wished to,
He could be as great as L,
If not greater.
But he dumbs himself down to third,
For Mello.
And as Mello kisses those others,
I see that Matt is so fragile under his mask of apathy,
Because Matt's anything but apathetic.
Anything but cruel,
Anything but cold,
Anything but hollow,
Because Matt has something the others here don't.
