I anxiously looked at the calendar to see it w as July 2! Crap, Jake's birthday is tomorrow! What am I supposed to get him? I could take him to see the fireworks and say, 'here's your birthday present'. No. So reluctantly I trudged to Alice's room and asked for her help.

"Ohmigod! Nessie, I have the perfect thing for you to get Jacob!" she squealed in delight. "And the perfect outfit!" oh, great! Alice stayed up all night helping me with my gift. I knew Jake was gonna love it!

July 3

I was beyond jittery that morning. Today I was going to give Jacob the best present in the world! I sympathized to Jasper for being hyperactive and he just chuckled. I was planning on, making a cake although it sorta turned out to be cooked cookie dough monster.

"Uh, Nessie I think you messed up on the cookie cake." Emmett commented.

"Emmett, I know, the cake concept got completely lost." I sighed.

"Oh, I have to call Katie!" I said remembering that she called this morning while I was making my concoction.

"Hello?" Katie answered.

"Today is Jake's birthday!" I squealed in delight.

"Hello to you to Nessie." She laughed.

"Sorry, it's just that I have been jittery all day." I sighed.

"I can tell. Your almost never this jittery or hyperactive." She giggled. We talked on the phone for about an hour before I had to clean up Esme's kitchen. The time went by fast and Alice helped me change.

"Alice, I refuse to wear your death-trap shoes." I told her as she pulled my curls back.

"Fine." She pouted. "At least you still have sensible shoes." She commented. "No, don't spill anything on this top!" Alice ordered. The top said, "All American" and I had a denim mini.

"I'll be extra careful I smiled." I bit my lip reconsidering Jake's gift.

"Quit freaking he will love it!" Alice assured me. Ever since the incident with the Volteri Alice could see the wolves.

"Thanks." I said. I got up and left the torture chamber to hide the cake in a Tupperware container. Then I heard my mom's old truck horn blowing. Before her wedding she decided to sell the truck back to Billy. "Bye!" I hollered as I ran out to greet the birthday boy. "Hi" I say hopping into the passengers seat.

"Hi, yourself." He smiled giving me a quick kiss before he headed to our destination. It was dark outside so Jake couldn't even begin to guess what was happening. He pilled into and open field and we got out to sit in the back. I quickly texted Alice to tell her we were ready and then BAM!

Fireworks! All colors glinted in the sky for him! He put his arm around my shoulder and I snuggled into him. "This is amazing." He marveled.

"And I have another surprise!" I said digging out the Tupperware.

"Uhhhh thanks. But what is it?" he asked.

"It was supposed to be cookie cake." I sighed. "

well it looks good." He said.

"It's all yours."

"Thanks." He smiled. Then he slid his hand to the back of my head and pulled me close, into a kiss. He moved his hand from my head to the small of my back and did was the single most romantic thing he had ever done, He kissed me while the fireworks were going off!

"Good birthday?" I asked once we parted.

"Best one yet!" he smiled.
