Close your eyes and drift away. Do not fear, everything will be fine.
Bloodshot eyes do not peer from beyond these stained windows tonight. There are only the crystals hailing from the clouds above, splashes of white melting on golden leaves.
The sky may be hiding behind a black mist, but do not worry. The sky does not bleed with crimson this night.
Least you will be able to release the fears you lock in your heart. You can halt your shaking feet, your shaking hands. The merchant of death lurks not tonight.
Our hands will not be stained with red. Your eyes need not dart with suspicion, with hatred for the unknown.
You may not understand these words, but let them be like a sweet melody to you, falling on fragile ears. May they put you to a peaceful rest, even just for a while.
By sunrise, these floors will be inked with red, but fear not. Tonight, sink into sweet dreams beyond white clouds you could never touch.
Let your eyelids fall, without the burden of the world upon it for once, without streams of black, of sorrow for the lost you never knew. You are safe.
I glare at them with the cold hatred of the winter that has yet to fall upon us. But for you, I bear only a smile of warmth and sunlight.
So smile with me, and rest.
Here, where there are no bloodied fingers pointing. Here, where darkness can be a warm blanket and not red blades that menace you.
And I am with you.
It may only be for one night. But know that I will not stray, and that you are safe.
Let this be a sweet sanctuary, if only for a moment.
