Cardfight Vanguard has evolved beyond what the world thought it ever could. With the Neuro just created a new game for it Cardfight! Online was created. This allowed cardfighter's to enter the VR world and challenge their friends. One of the best parts of it was that you became your vanguard and fought on the frontlines, but the real best part is you got to meet the units, equipped with a real time A.I system so they could interact with you. But not everyone knows about this game as only a special selected few are allowed it. We now follow Aki Narukami who just joined Cardfight! Online as he learns that this is more than just a game.

The day has ended for the students, standing and bowing before their teacher, before they all started to pack. Ready to get out of there. Aki stood up, passing a kid with messy golden hair. He was wearing the purple school uniform zipped up, Aki noticed as he left his class room, he could almost swear he saw the kid smile but…he never really looked at his class mates so he wasn't sure. As he made his way down the hallway he passed the school's student council president. Him and the vice-president were talking about a poster. The boy had curly pink hair, and red glasses, the uniform was zipped up as well and the girl next to him had tan curly hair with flowers, she wore the girls purple uniform with a white long dress.

Aki a 14-year-old with blood red eyes. He had a blank expression on his face as he continued walking. He has white spikey hair that reaches to his neck wearing a black featherlight visor vanguard brand hat on his head. Around his neck her wore a blue and white collar like device. The Neuro.

He wore a purple school uniform with a grey hoodie underneath it. Aki was just walking, two more kids from his school ran past him yelling at each other, they must have lived in the neighborhood. The boy who was ahead had spikey read hair, he wore his uniform open, revealing a white shirt, with the purple pants, next was the girl, she was short and had long pink hair tied int a ponytail with a yellow bow. Her ponytail reached her back. She her uniform was just like the vice-presidents. He was looking at them for a second until his Neuro got a message. Aki moved up his hand as he clicked a mailbox that he could only see opening it. There was just one message but he decided to wait till he got home to read it.

As Aki arrived home he walked straight up to his room closing the door behind him and sat down onto his bed. He laid in his bed as he reached for the mailbox and opened it and clicked the message.

'Dear Aki Narukami'

Aki was surprised by this as he wondered what the heck this was, he was kind of scared to do this but, what he had heard around town Cardfight! Online was actually a pretty cool game and that only people who were strong got to get it and install. Aki sighed and pulled up a keyboard and went to the sight of Cardfight! Online. It was just black with a place for a code to be type in.

Aki stared at it for a second and slowly typed in the code. Before he knew lights flashed before his eyes. He looked around and his eyes became wide. He was standing in some sort of food court and all around him TV screens shown Cardfight's going on. Alfred…Bigbelly. All of the units fighting on a battle field somewhere else.

Robots were even flying around as he just stared confused. One of the robots came up to him. It was hovering in front of him. But Aki took a quick look at himself. He wasn't wearing his uniform but just a grey hoodie and black pants instead.

"Welcome Aki Narukami" The robot spoke. Yeah Aki had heard of some VR games but this was different it felt like he was actually here. "Uh…thanks" Aki said still. "Out of the way loser bot." Aki looked over hearing what sounded to be a loud voice.

This boy looked to be the same age as Aki. He had a short stature with blue eyes and medium-length messy golden hair. His hair isn't long enough to cover his ears but long enough to cover his forehead. He wore a gold shirt with a yellow waistcoat with dark green jeans and tan boots. As Aki got a better look of the guy, he noticed it was the kid from his class.

"Welcome to Cardfight! Online dude. The names Masato Hyuuga." Masato said holding out his hand with a big smile on his face. Aki took his hand and just shook it. "Aki…Aki Narukami." Aki said replying back.

"I know, we have been in the same class since the start of the year. Just know you got a starter fight in a couple of minutes. You should head over to the United Sanctuary Battle Arena." Masato said still with that smile on his face.

"Uh? United Sanctuary?" Aki looked a bit confused. "See those transporters over there?" Masato said pointing over to 6 small pads on the ground each with a nation of cray hanging over it.

"Those will take you to the United Sanctuary territory which will lead you to the arena and other things" Masato spoke up.

As Aki still didn't understand he just nodded. As Masato waved him off. Aki just walked over to the United Sanctuary port and was transported quickly to a new area. He looked around and this building seem to like a kingdom. He stood in what looked to be a guild hall. A lot of other players were here. They all looked like sophisticated kids unlike Aki who was wearing a hoodie.

Some of them started whispering as he could catch some of it. "That kid looks like he uses Shadow Paladins." Some of the kids gave him a mean look, almost as if they didn't trust him. He ignored them as he made his way outside. He looked at a sign that point outside which said Arena. He walked through the territory which had a lot more kids than he thought before. Some were just hanging out with each other sitting under trees or eating vender food.

Aki made it to the Arena looking up at a giant Tv that greeted him when he walked in. It showed a picture of him and a blonde-haired guy who has a goatee and backcombed hair. Aki looked at the screen. He played most fights online so his deck was on his Neuro but what would he be doing here.

Aki walked to a door that had the number one on it as this was where he was to meet his opponent. They guy he saw on the screen stood with a smug look on his face. He looked about 6"2 and wore a beige sweater with a brown suit over it. Black pants and brown loafers. He wore a red like shades and two gold earrings."Well Welcome to Cardfight! Online newbie. I'm going to have a fun time showing you the ropes" the guy said

'Aki Narukami since this is you first fight you have the choice of going first or second' A loud voice spoke over the two. Aki didn't have a clue what it was talking about but he decided.

"I'll go second" Aki spoke up as he looked for what had said that.

'Please spin the location randomizer' the Voice spoke as a horizontal wheel appeared in front of Aki. He placed his hand on it and spun the wheel as it spun a few quick times until it slowed down and stopped.

Dust Plains-United Sanctuary

Before Aki could act five card images appeared in front of him. He couldn't really touch them but he could see what they were. He looked at his opponent but he couldn't see what he had. He just saw that he had five cards.

"The cards are hidden to the opponent like a normal game" Aki muttered to himself as he had a grin come onto his face.

'Aki Narukami and Kurama Stand up your vanguards' the voice spoke

"Stand up Vanguard!" Aki and Kurama yelled out in unison. Aki was surprised by this next part as he noticed a blue light surround him. He looked around to find himself at the Dust Plains but he looked a different but the same. He swears he saw Wingal Brave in Kurama's place. He then decided to look at himself he had become Dragwizard, Vicreau. Aki smiled, this place was way for to take vanguard battles to the next level.

"Any day now newbie" Kurama had barked out from Wingal's body, this had snapped Aki back to his senses. He was about to have his first Cardfight here, he had to make an impression of himself to the other fighters. "Draw" Aki said, as a new card appeared in front of him. "Ride Draglancer, Daellad!" (Draglancer, Daellad Grade 1 Shield 5000 Power 7000)

As Aki called out his ride, a crimson and purple vanguard symbol surrounded his body, as he transformed into Daellad, with his white hair and blood red eyes. He smirked. "Vicreau moves back" Behind him another vanguard circle began circling as Vicreau appeared and nodded at him. "I will end my turn there."

Aki called out as Kurama looked relieved. "My turn. I draw, and ride Little Tactician, Marron!" Little Tactician, Marron (Grade 1 Shield 5000 Power 7000) Kurama had a dark blue vanguard symbol circle around him as he became Marron. "Calling Wingal Brave behind. Next I will be attacking your vanguard with a boost from Brave." Kurama called out running at him with Wingal close behind him. Aki crossed his lances to making a blocking gesture, as Kurama was about to cast a spell.

Draglancer, Daellad-7000 vs Little Tactician, Marron-12000

"No guard" Aki called out, as Kurama smirked. "Drive trigger check" A card came into view for the both of them to see.

Drive Trigger Check: Margal-Draw Trigger

A red light shined, as Aki saw the image of Margal. "Draw Trigger. Giving the power to myself, and I draw one card" Kurama announced chuckling as his magic attack was blue lightning, striking Aki. Aki cried out as he dropped to his knees. He…. he felt that. He grabbed at his chest as he was heaving a breath. Kurama looked down at Aki on his knees. "Damage check." Aki said, still a bit shocked from feeling that. His card was revealed.

"Welcome to Cardfight Online kid." He spoke, going back to his side. "Turn end"

Aki held his chest, as he was just chuckling. This was the most fun he has even had in a cardfight in so long. Nothing could get his blood pumping like this again. wHe stood up as he looked at his opponent. "I draw" Aki said as his new card entered his hand. Back at the food court. Masato was sitting in his backwards chair at a table with a big grin on his face. "Now show me. If you can be a new challenger for me to defeat" Masato said chuckling.

Others were watching this fight as Aki was the newbie and people wanted to see how much skill he had. To see if he was an alley… or a threat.
