Harry Potter rescues Sirius

One night Harry couldn't sleep and went for a walk on the Hogwarts grounds.

The December night was icy-cold and Harry thought that it was too cold for him. He thought he should change into a Dalmatian, so that he had a warm fur. Fortunately, he had practised a long time and had managed to become an Animagus.

As a Dalmatian he walked around the lake in Hogwarts and met a black dog. They talked for a while. The dog told him that his name was Sirius and that he did not betray Harry's Mum and Dad but Peter Pettigrew, and that he was innocent.

He said, "Peter Pettigrew is the rat of Ron. And he is just disguised so that no one can find him. You must find the rat and take it to Dumbledore's office, and then you must make him change into his human form in front of Dumbledore."

'It would be cool to have a godfather and not to have to go back to the Dursleys,' Harry thought.

In the next morning, the two dogs found the rat and took it to Dumbledore's office.

Before they reached Dumbledore's office, Harry changed back into his human form and entered Dumbledore's office to speak with him. He told Dumbledore that Sirius was innocent and did not betray his Mum and Dad, but the rat Peter Pettigrew did.

Dumbledore changed the rat back into the man and took him to Azkaban prison without his magic and wand. He gave the man's magic and wand to Harry, so that he could become much stronger.

Sirius changed from the dog to his human form in front of Dumbledore and Dumbledore asked, "Harry, did you and Sirius find the rat?"

Harry said, "Yes."

Dumbledore then apologized to Sirius and allowed Harry to spend his holidays with Sirius. Then Dumbledore held a party just for Sirius, who was declared innocent and given a bag of dog biscuits.
