I was sorta bored so I decided to write this short little story.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Now on with the story!

I sat quietly by the dim fire. It was night time and my surroundings were enveloped by the darkness of the night sky. The only light was the small flicker of the fire. I heard the quiet snapping of what seemed to be a twig in the bushes behind me, I was slightly startled but I merely ignored it. The wilderness was indeed a scary place but I tried to ignore the fears that welled up in my head. I had nothing to worry about right? I was will a group of skilled warriors who asked me to join their group. I thought it was sort of weird at first, a band of warriors asking an archer to join them, but they welcomed me kindly and were fairly nice.

I sighed as I looked up at the sky. The moon was hidden by the haze of grey clouds. After that, I put out the fire and dozed off.

It was a cold and unwelcoming morning. We had decided to skip breakfast as we were hot on the trail of a group of mages. We readied our gear began to tread through the rough terrain of this desolate land. A thin blanket of snow from the previous night covered the ground. I scanned the snow slowly, footprints, several pairs of them. I pointed them out to the rest of my group and we quickened our pace.

Soon we reached an area with a large thicket of trees. I reached for my bow and notched an arrow as I carefully looked around. An area like this was a good area for mages to attack unsuspecting wanderers… But we reached the other side of the dead forest with no problems, which was a good thing I guess, but something just didn't feel right…

And sure enough something was wrong; my "comrades" surrounded me swiftly gripping their rune weapons tightly. One of them sneered at me as he took a step towards me. I quickly looked around me in a desperate attempt to find a way to escape, but sadly I was trapped. I foolishly tried to run away, I sprinted as fast as I could past one of the burly warriors. I kept running without looking back, but I heard the whizzing of an arrow streaming through the air. I felt a sharp pain in my left leg as the steel arrow pierced my flesh. I tried to ignore the pain in my leg and I continued running, but unfortunately the arrow had slowed my pace and I heard footsteps behind me. Then after that, I felt another sharp pain in my back and then I saw nothing but darkness…

Well, that was it!
