Once Upon a Christmas
The twenty year old KazeKage silently read over hundreds of documents without so much as a five minute break. It was December twenty-third and Sunagakure no Sato wasn't any colder then it was a few weeks ago.
The village was looking Christmassy though. It had kilometers and kilometers of tinsel strung upon all of the buildings of the village. That included the kazekage's office and home. And for the first time in Suna history there was a huge Christmas tree in the center of the village. Gaara wasn't exactly sure how his older sister, Temari, had convinced him that this was a good idea, but what was done was done. Suddenly there was a knock on Gaara's office door, breaking his concentration.
"Come in," Gaara said without looking up. A messenger from Konohagakure no Sato hurriedly walked into the room. The messenger bowed deeply before starting to relay his message. "Lord Kazekage-sama, Lady Hokage-sama and her successor, Uzumaki Naruto, wish to inform you of the gifts that they are sending out of the Christmas cheer. They also wish to say 'Merry Christmas, Gaara-kun! And thank you for your kind gifts as well. We just received them!' to you. That is all," the messenger finished.
Gaara discharged the messenger and got back to work only to be interrupted for the second time that day. "Gaara, the presents have come!" his older brother, Kankuro, yelled out. Gaara sighed heavily. "Bring them in." Kankuro made a weird hand sign to whoever was outside the room. Grunts of labor filled the silence of the room as twelve of Suna's strongest jounins, excluding Kankuro and Temari, brought in a gigantic present wrapped in shiny gold paper with a dark purple ribbon and bow on it.
"There you go Gaara. This is your present." Wide-eyed, Gaara got up from his seat. "Are you positive this is for me?" he asked surprised. Kankuro nodded happily.
"Open it! Open it! Open it!" Kankuro chanted childishly. Gaara glared at his brother, but went to the present to open it. He pulled the purple ribbon off and watched as the giant present sprang open to reveal Gaara's friends from Konoha.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS, GAARA!" they all yelled out. Naruto added from his place in the middle of the group of people, "Believe it!"
