So, I found this sitting on my computer unfinished, so I finished it and decided to upload it. Sorry if its no good, I did no editing whatsoever, I just needed to post it already.

Anyone could have seen it. The whispered words, the casual touches and the smiles that they reserved only for each other were telltale signs. Eventually, something would have to give. Anyone could have seen it; Warren Peace and Layla Williams were going to break their respective partners' hearts.

First, Magenta saw it. After homecoming, Warren had began to sit with her and her friends. He was always stationed firmly between Will and Layla, giving off an aura that said that if anyone tried to get him to move, they'd get fried. Never mind that Layla and Will were dating, if they tried to go to The Paper Lantern, Warren would always end up talking with them, impeding upon their privacy. He obviously didn't mean to, and Magenta knew that he would never deliberately hurt either of his friends' feelings. But when it came to lunchtime, the subtle hints popped up like popcorn. They would talk about things that none of the others could understand, as if they were in their own private world.

Next was Misty Frost, otherwise known as Freeze Girl, Warren's girlfriend. They were a good pair and went together nicely, giving anyone who saw them an "opposites attract" ideology. Misty noticed how Warren would always sit with Layla and her friend and though he payed attention to her, she often longed for the type of attention he would bestow upon the flower child. Therefore, she had broken up with him, insisting that there was someone better for him.

Slowly, Will realized that his two best friends had an understanding without him. They didn't need him, despite that he was Layla's boyfriend. He had seen the way people looked at the pyro and flower child. He had also seen the odd looks given when he and Layla would do something romantic at school. Most people assumed that she and Warren were together or that she must be having an affair with Warren behind Will's back. Of course two people couldn't possibly be that close without having some sort of romantic background. Will saw, but he was determined to ignore it.

Layla would never, ever do anything that would hurt Will intentionally. But when Warren came around, all her thoughts turned to him and Will didn't get a second thought. Not to say that the pyro eclipsed her life, but he took up a significant part of who she was as a person. She remembered when he had handed her the fortune after telling her her lucky numbers. However, once she had turned over the fortune, it said something completely different from what he had told her, reassuring her the Warren Peace was a good guy after all.

Warren had been in relationships before, but had never given a thought to the way they would work out. Sure, he liked (or even loved) each woman he had dated, but Layla was different. Just her touch or her smile would threaten to send his heart over the edge. There was one problem. She was his best friend's girl. Untouchable for eternity and a half. Man, this sucked.

Layla and Warren already broke hearts. People were just waiting for them to realize their feelings for one another. And damn, it would take them a long time. But their partners would wait, and when the pyro and plant girl were dumped, magic would happen.
