He and the other heroes that had sacrificed and participated in the war were given a wish each. Thalia was promised more recruits for the hunt, Nico his father's heir, Tyson was made general of Poseidon's armies and given a new weapon after losing his in the fight. Annabeth was called next, "Daughter of Athena, we the Gods grant you one wish." "I wish to become a Goddess." With these words spoken the once proud hero broke before the very eyes he called family and before the ones he nearly gave his life protecting. As the Gods granted the child of Athena her wish the young hero realized that he had nothing to desire from the Gods. The camp was safe, its hero's now had the ability to be recognized from minor to Olympian descent. Taken from his thoughts the Gods turned to Percy for his wish, deciding simply to have partial immortality and save his wish for later. The Gods argued stating that he was a hero and needed to be rewarded. Fed up with the squabbling Artemis granted it seeing as she was familiar with granting this particular gift. Unknown to everyone she had also blessed him feeling as if he deserved it after everything he had done for her and her family. After the awards were given out and Zeus had given a speech about the bravery of the Gods and how they singlehandedly won the war they drifted to the party. Annabeth had left stating that she needed to run an errand and that she would return. Only Percy knew she was acting different but had let it go, after being forced to dance he was then cornered by Hestia when trying to sneak out. 'Well no harm can come out of asking her to help me to get home.' He thought, with that in mind he went to ask her however before a word could be uttered she asked him if he would become her champion. Seeing how he had loved her as his second mother he was honored that she would ask him and was eager to agree. After blessing him she sent him home./span/p

Unfortunately, he came upon them lying in a pool of their own blood, falling to his knees next to them he removed the knife that was embedded into the carpet between them. Reading the note [Jackson you and the Gods were fools to ever have believed you could have trusted me, I never loved you and because you did your parents are dead. Because you were too loyal and couldn't see the truth that was right in front of you your parents paid for what you did. While in this embrace the young hero asked his patron if she would help him disappear and create a new life, she agreed stating that he could instead help demigods by bringing them to either the camp, the hunters, or to even Camp Jupiter.
