This is just a little idea I got from reading some fanfic, I don't remember what it is, but it's another GraystripeXFireheart/star oneshot, more like a drabble actually. It take place shortly after Graystripe's return from the Twoleg place. It's just Graystripe's mind wandering as he and Firestar spend time together roaming around the territory.
I have no idea when this started.
These strong emotions that reveal themselves whenever he is around me.
I know it's forbidden, even as our pelts brush, tails intertiwined, running endlessly through the forest.
Just like the old days. Just as prefect and graceful as I remember him.
His amber paws gilding across the forest, matching each pawstep with mine exactly.
His warm eyes clouded, giving a loving expression that I can sense he saves only for me.
I seem to have no luck with partners, my first love, also coming from another Clan, died giving birth to my kits.
My second mate is a kittypet I brought to the forest.
And then there's Firestar, my eternal bond. Our relationship seems to be wrong on so many levels.
I brought his to the forest, away from his kittypet life. We grew up together, sticking through thick and thin. Through the battle with BloodClan, through my encounters with the twolegs. This cat, this tom, my leader, my best friend, my secret lover.
I would give up my honor, my Clan, even my life, to stay as we are now.
Running, not caring where nor when, bathed in the silver light of the stars and the moon.
Tails entwined.
Pelts brushing.
Matching paw by paw, step for step.
His radiant pelt blending in the starlight with my own colorless one.
Dripping honey staring into endless blue, eyes shining with love.
My forbidden lover,
Would also sacrifice it all to drown in this moment?
I ask him this before the sun betrays us, exchanging the cool silver light and cover of darkness
for the liquid gold sunshine and total visibility.
The time when we must hide our secrect affections until the sun falls again.
