Zelda was a young Firebender in search of a teacher. She was searching for a way to use her firebending to help others. She has been since a couple years before. The day Prince Zuko was given his scar.

Zelda had long black hair, which she braided and tied back with a red velvet ribbon. She was wearing her practice outfit at the moment: a short red shirt, and a black skirt that went down to her knees. Also, around her neck was a beautiful silk necklace given to her by her brother, Zane. The necklace had a Fire Nation pendant on it that was set with spectacular gleaming red rubies.

Zelda and Zane were practicing fighting and firebending by the lake near the outskirts of their village. Zane had his hair up like Zuko's in order to keep it out of his face. One strand fell loose though, knocked out of the ponytail by his sister's sword.

"Come on, Zane!" exclaimed Zelda. "I know you can do better than that, big bro!"

Zane looked furious, although he was just joking. "I'm holding back, Zelda. I'm about to become a soldier to the Fire Lord. You can't possibly think I'm even worse than a little girl!"

"I'm fourteen, Sir Zane!" said Zelda. "And since when were you gonna be a soldier?"

"A couple of days ago, Zelda: Princess of Peasants," replied Zane.

Zelda smiled. "Princess of Peasants?" she asked. "Now I'm 'The Little Girl who is Princess of Peasants'?"

"Let's just get on with our training."

Zelda ignited her sword with a flick of her wrist and started rapidly swinging at her brother.

"Zelda!" screamed Zane when the sword hit his shoulder. "This is PRACTICE! Not a Fire Duel!"

"I'm sorry big brother! I'm no better than Ozai was!" Zelda started crying.

"Hey. It's okay, Zelda…" Zane started to say. But before he could finish his sentence, she had run back to the village.
