Lamentations of a Spider (that went splat)
Splat, went the spider. Or rather, splat, went the notebook in Yagyuu's hand onto the spider. Same difference, really. Yagyuu splated the spider with a calm, collected face, to the bemusement of his partner reclining on his bed.
"Why did'ya do that?"
Niou asked, lazily extending his arms in a languid stretch. He knows Yagyuu was watching. His smug grin attested to knowing what an alluring sight he's making, with the morning sun shining behind him creating a halo sort of effect and him being naked and all, muscles shifting and rippling gracefully under smooth perfect skin. Never let it be said that Niou Masaharu isn't a tease (not that Yagyuu will ever say such things, at any rate).
Still, the matter of the sadly deceased spider warrants an answer. After all, it isn't like Yagyuu to go around doing ungentlemanly things like splating spiders and Niou can't very well let Yagyuu lose his character, now, can he? What will happen to their Switch then?
"Family rule, so to speak. My sister is terrified of spiders. She'll become a sobbing wreak just from seeing one." Yagyuu offered as explanation.
Honestly, Niou-kun teases him too much. While there is nothing wrong with a little test of his composure now and then, what Niou-kun is doing… can't really be overlooked. But that shall come later, Yagyuu decided.
"Feh, let her be scared, I say. Lock her in a cupboard with a spider and a brick. Once she splats her first spider, she'll never be scared of them again."
Of course the dangerous glint in his partner's eyes didn't escape Niou, but that's what makes it so fun, no? To see how far he can push Yagyuu before his lover slams him back down onto the bed. It's all a game to him. Life in itself is but a game to him, and Yagyuu is his partner and rival and his victory goal all at the same time. And so Niou stretches just a bit further, let the covers fall just a bit lower on his lap, and wait for Yagyuu's next move.
"That's a little too… Spartan, isn't it, Niou-kun?" Upon seeing the incredulous look on Niou's face, Yagyuu elaborated. "She's just 10, you know. I doubt my parents will agree to try your therapy methods."
Naughty, naughty Niou-kun. From Yagyuu's elevated standing position, he can just about see a little peek of Niou's lovely creamy smooth thighs. And naughty boys needed to be punished, don't they?
"Eh, well, if she wanna survive in Rikkai, she'll have to get used to Spartan. What a waste of a good spider though, I was hoping that it'll spin some webs in this nice, pristine room of yours…"
Niou, Yagyuu reflects, is just like a spider in so many ways. A predator through and through, yet one that does not revel in the chase of the prey, but rather one that prefers laying elaborate traps and waiting for the prey to blunder into them itself. He sits there, always watching, always waiting, wearing an eternally infuriating smirk, daring you to come to him, sneering at you when you refused out of caution, laughing at you when you fell for it and got yourself tangled in his web of lies and deceptions. And then he strikes. Pumping you full of poison, at his mercy until he decides you're starting to bore him. Spiders eat their prey live, after all.
But Yagyuu is no foolish bug, if he must be anything, then he will be a spider like Niou (for are they not mirror images?). He knows the working of Niou's mind, understands what makes it tick and he paid attention in class when the teacher was going though the behavior of the araneae order. However, Yagyuu also know that there is another spider, one who is different from it's brethren. One who does not spin webs and wait for food, but goes straight for the prey if they're hungry; and if he must be anything, Yagyuu will be this spider. And so Yagyuu left the room to clean up his soiled notebook, because assassin spiders only strike when least expected.
