'Take a breath, take it deep'
He laid the gun in front of her and she gasped at what he was asking her to do.
'Calm yourself, he says to me'
He spoke quietly and sounded very dark. Unlike his normal cheery voice.
'If you play, you play for keeps'
She couldn't do it. He forced the gun in her hands and teased her making her feel weak
'Take the gun, and count to 3'
He pushed her to the wall in a fit of rage forcing her to hold the gun to his head.
'And you can see my heart beating'
She was so scared. Scared of her lover. He wanted her to kill him. Two bullets. One to kill him. One to finish him off. You know how Timelords are.
'You can see it through my chest'
He saw her chest rising and falling quicker than normal and smirked "Scared are we River?" To this she made no reply.
'Say a prayer to yourself
He spoke some words so quietly she couldn't hear. They sounded like a prayer. Something wasn't right.
'He says close your eyes, sometimes it helps'
She closed her eyes and held the gun back up to his chest.
'And then a get, a scary thought'
She realised what she was about to do but he had already forced her to pull the trigger
'So just pull the trigger'
The gun was set of breaking the silence with a thunderous bang. He stumbled backwards, mouth open, trying to say something. But nothing coming out. She watched him in horror of what she had just done. He fell to the floor, kneeling clutching his side, when his body shook and he put his head back and grey smoke escaped his mouth and he collapsed. River ran to him and held him.
"River..." he whispered. A beg, a plea. Meaning he wanted to say sorry but couldn't.
"I'm sorry my love." She was crying as she held the dying Timelord in her arms...
