Have you ever felt like you met the one? The one who could put you out of your stress and misery and make you smile and laugh like you never did before? The one who made you feel like you belong in this harsh world? The one who makes you feel important and help you through the ups and downs of life? I felt it. My name is Stephanie Whittaker, and I am in love with Percy Jackson, my best friend.

Now, don't go all wacko on me, will ya? I know Percy has a girlfriend in San Francisco that he's very much in love with. I know my love isn't one-sided. But I am not like the others. I don't try to break them up. No, if you really, truly love a person that is in love with another, then leave them be. Part of love is to accept the fact that the person you love is in love with someone else and will never love you back (A/N: The word love is used way too many times in this paragraph) I would do anything for Percy's happiness. Anything. Even if I'm in an inner turmoil daily. Even if I started to lose hope. Because I'm happy as long as Percy's happy. Because I know from the way Percy lights up at the mention of his girlfriend or anything like it, he is only truly happy with her. So I am not going to get in the way of that. I would rather be in a living death, a living hell, than Percy not being happy.

I was just getting out of Calculus (ugh) at the end of the day when I bumped into Percy who looked like he was the happiest man in the world (right now, my heart is beating so fast that if it were a human, it would be running faster than Usain Bolt).

"Hey, Steph, guess what? Annabeth's visiting from California today! She's picking me up! I finally get to see my Wise Girl!" Percy exclaimed.

"Really? That's great! Can I meet her?" I said, sounding happy on the outside but very sad on the inside.

"Yeah, sure, Steph!" he replied back.

Percy and I were waiting outside, when a silver minivan pulled over into the parking lot, promptly at 4:30. A gorgeous girl stepped out. She had blonde curls that looked like a princess, smooth tan skin, and stormy gray eyes. Eyes that tell you that she is smarter and more dangerous than she looks. Eyes that analyze you thoroughly. Eyes that can't lie. I know that she can figure me out now. Percy ran over to her and hugged her so tight, she started turning blue. Then he started kissing her. My heart was breaking but I was still glad to see Percy happy, happier than he has been in a long time (A/N: This is after Tartarus)

When he pulled away, he turned to me and said, "Steph, this is Annabeth, my girlfriend. Annabeth, this is Steph, my best friend in this school"

"Hey Annabeth. I'm Stephanie Whittaker. So glad to finally meet you! Percy told me so much about you!" I said, acting like I wasn't very sad. Annabeth saw through it though.

"Hey, Steph, can I talk to you for a moment? Not including you Seaweed Brain!" Annabeth replied.

2 Minutes later

"You like him, don't you?"

"Yes, but I also know that he will never love me back, that he loves you. I will never do anything that hurts him. I accept these facts and I will always support you"

"I like you, you're a good person"

Love is full of sadness, happiness, and sacrifice.

Love consists in giving without getting in return; in giving what is not owed, what is not due the other. That's why true love is never based, as associations for utility or pleasure are, on a fair exchange.

A/N: Sorry this is really bad. I PROMISE the next one will be better. Bye all my little mustaches!
