Dear Mako,

I don't know why I'm actually doing this, actually taking time to sit down and collect my thoughts on paper. Tenzin suggested it, saying it will help me heal, but I feel writing these letters to you is only ripping the wounds in my heart open again.

Tenzin has had enough of it and is currently pressing me into the chair. If you were here and I had to write a letter I didn't want to write, you'd probably be doing the same thing.

I'll just make this short, since I only have one announcement to tell you. Do you remember when the two of us let ourselves just be teenagers before, what turned out to be, the last battle with Amon? How you weren't ashamed of how far we got the morning after?

You're probably answering, "Yes," to all of these. At least you'd better be! You don't have a choice now!

I'm pregnant, Mako, with your child!

I'll update you on his (you preferred little girls, right?) progress as soon as I learn something! Isn't it exciting? I'll wrap him (or her) in your scarf. I'll sing our child that lullaby you sand to me when I had those nightmares for a month.

I'll tell our child how wonderful her father was.

What a wonderful man he was.

What a loving father and husband he would have been.

I miss you, so, so much, Mako. I wish you were here with me through this, because no matter how many people there are supporting me during these coming months, without you by my side, I feel like I'm going through this pregnancy alone.

I guess even the Avatar, the most powerful being in the world, can't bring you back from the Spirit World. If I could turn back time to stop your death, I would have done so in a heartbeat.

Even in death, though, I still love you.

Thank you for giving me a reason to keep going. I will try to be strong, for you, and for our child. Thank you for allowing me the wonderful pleasure of knowing and loving you.
