A Little to Late

By: Demoness Mark

He lied...

He promised that we would meet again...

But we didn't.

I waited for him...

Through my youth.

I'm only twenty, and I'm dying. I can't hold on. I can't wait any longer. I'm going to die and there is nothing I can do. He broke his promise. Why did he lie? Didn't he cared? Didn't he know I can handle rejection? Why did he give me false hope? I would rather have no hope at all then the false hope that kept me alive for so long...

Too long.

I'm on my deathbed, Haku. Come to me. Show me you love me. Care about me. I need you, I love you, Please...

A flat lane appears on a monitor by the young woman's bedside. No one comes. A small service in held in a tiny graveyard. Only a priest and a gravedigger attend. There is no flowers, no music, no one to remember this beautiful young woman. Her headstone simply reads Chihiro Sen (?) She loved and lost and hoped to love again, but no love came. 1994-2014.

Twenty years later a young man is standing at the overgrown grave in a forgotten graveyard. His dark blue/black hair falls to his shoulder, and his emerald eyes express only pain. His shaking hand drops a bouquet of red roses and he walks away. A card drifts on the wind that says to my darling Chihiro, I am sorry it took so long, my love, but it could not be helped. All my love, Haku.
