Ali: I thought of this while at a field trip to some observatory...thing. They said a ton of techie stuff.
Rin: I only went for the 30 foot slinkie and pajamas with sunglasses stories.
Sin: Did either of you pay attention?
Rin: I was too busy playing with my hikari's hair.
Ali: I did...until I got the idea for this really short one-shot.
Sin: *facepalms*
Ali: You know I have the attention span of a goldfish...cracker.
Rin: Even that has a-hey, look! Shiny! *plays with Ali's hair*
Sin: *sweatdrops* Ignore her, she had too much sugar in her cereal.
Ali: Before I forget, I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh. Big fat doi!
Yami tapped his pencil against his paper in frustration. Why did he have to be so bad at science?
The former pharoh had enrolled in Domino High to help him fit in better. So far it was going fairly well. Except for the fact he sucked at science. He was good -more or less- at everything else, but that was his weak point. How in Osiris' name was he suposed to know the difference between electrons, protons, and neutrons. Or remember all the different functions of each part of a cell?
Dropping his pencil onto the textbook, he began muttering profanities about stupid science in Coptic. He stopped when there was a knock on his door. Snapping his book close, he told the person to come in. It turned out to be Yugi.
"How's your homework coming?" the smaller boy queried, eyeing the abandoned textbook.
"Oh, fine, aibou." Yami lied. He didn't like lying to his hikari, but his pride just wouldn't let him ask for help. Being a pharoh in Ancient Egypt did that to a person.
"Really?" Yugi challenged. "Because you've been working on it for nearly forty-five minutes."
"Honestly, I'm doing fine, I just...decided to take a nap." Great, another lie.
"Do you really get that tired?" the violet-eyed teen asked, slightly worried.
Yami mentally smacked himself for making Yugi worry. "No, but I figured a little cat nap couldn't hurt."
"Okay, but I think that can wait until after you've done your homework." Yugi chided.
"Sorry." the other said.
"You know, Yami, you could always ask me for help if you need it." his light added, getting up.
Yami hesitated. His other half had practically given him an invitation. Question was, should he accept it? He opened mouth to speak, but his dumb pride got in the way. Now or never. he told himself.
"Actually, I do need your help." Yugi smirked, just what he'd wanted his dark to say.
An hour later, Yami finally got most of his science homework. Apparently, Yugi makes a better teacher than any person at the school. And, for being such a good student, Yami got a reward from his little light.
Ali: Yami's reward was a kiss, not what some of you might be thinking.
Rin: *still playing with Ali's hair and clearly still sugar high* Silky...
Sin: *ignores Rin* How exactly did you come up with science?
Ali: Because we had to that worksheet and my pride wouldn't let me ask for help.
Rin: You have pride? Nooooo. That would require an ego actually on the charts.
Sin: *sweatdrops and facepalms*
Ali: Review, people...
