A/N: Hi guys. Been awhile huh? Well, I thought I'd post this short oneshot. I wrote it awhile back and thought I should put it up. Hope it's not too awful :)
Disclaimer: I don't own HSM, if I did, Ryella would have happened in the first movie and been the main pairing in the second.
R & R please
Stars were spread across the sky. It was a warm, summer night in New Mexico. The bright stars were now shining down on two ordinary teenagers who thought it was a great night for stargazing. They were laying side by side on top of the boy's blue convertible, just watching the beautiful sight before them.
The two teenagers were none other than Ryan Evans and Gabriella Montez, as of that day, graduates of East High School. In the yearbook, Ryan was slated as the best dancer and king of drama while Gabriella excelled in becoming one of the smartest girls in school with an amazing voice. But there was more to them then their stereotypes and that's why they were the best of friends. Because they saw past that in each other.
"It's really over. High school's over." Gabriella stated bluntly not taking her eyes off the sky.
"Yep. It's kinda weird. No more Wildcat spirit week or Miss Darbus's lengthy speeches about how, all should apperciate the fine arts." His last comment came with an immitation of Miss Darbus, their homerooom and drama teacher, making Gabriella laugh.
"Yeah. I can't beleive I'm actually gonna miss those things."
"I know what you mean. But hey, were both going to college in New York. So at least we won't have to say goodbye to one another."
"That's true. I don't know what I'd do without you Ryan." She said turning her head to meet his eyes.
"Let's hope you never have to find out."
Both smiling, they turned back to the shining specks of light above.
They both sat in silence for awhile until Gabriella asked something.
"Do you regret anything?" The question confused him, so he rolled on to his side, propped up on his elbow to see her better.
"I don't understand." Mirroring his position, they were now inches apart.
"I mean, was there anything you wanted to do in high school but never did?"
Ryan thought about her words for minute until he raised his head up and met her expectant brown eyes.
"Yeah. There is, one thing I regret not doing. I had thought about it for a long time but could never bring my self to do it."
"What was it?"
Ryan looked at her long and hard, his blue eyes imploring her until, steadily, he leaned over and captured her lips with his. It was sweet and quick and he thought he'd end it before pushing her. Pulling back, shock now filled her face as she stared at him.
"I've been in love with you since the very minute I saw you. You're beautiful, sweet, have the most amazing voice and, I guess what I'm trying to say is I,"
His speech was cut short by the welcome distraction of her lips covering his. Melting into her kiss, his hand found her long curly hand and entangled itself in the soft tresses as her hand stroked her cheek lovingly. The kiss was long and languid before they eventually pulled away for lack of air. As they did, their eyes met and their lips stayed centimeters apart from each other.
"I love you Gabby. And that's the one thing I regreted not saying to you a long time ago."
"But you said it now."
"So it's not too late?"
"It's never too late. I love you too Ryan."
The biggest smile imaginable graced his face as their lips leaned in again. And at that same exact moment, a shooting star raced across the sky and it was as if everyone's wishes came true. At least for the romantic couple kissing on the hood of a car.
Cheesy and sweet as heck I know, but that's what Ryella is, that's why we love them so.
Review pretty please with sugar on top?
