She sang a song of sorrow

A song that made me cry

Four and twenty people

That should have never died

She was their Commander

If she were there that night

Then maybe the place called Haven

Would have won the fight

She sang a song of anger

A song that made me mad

Four and twenty children

That the raiders had

She was their protector

And she couldn't be true

To her home and country

When children were for stew

She sang a song of triumph

A song that made me smile

Four and twenty children

Were safe for just a while

She had seen their sadness

She had seen their fears

But as long as she lived

She would never see their fears
