Becoming Stronger

"Bella, I'm so sorry. Please forgive me." Jasper Cullen whispered desperately.

"It's fine. Don't worry about it." Bella said, clearly still a little nervous about being around Jasper.

On Bella's eighteenth birthday she developed a slight paper cut, that was all it took, though, for Jasper to loose control. Honestly, Bella didn't blame Jasper, he was the newest and youngest of the Cullen family and was still struggling with being close to Bella, a human. Now, three days later, Jasper was trying to explain why he reacted so badly.

"No, it's not fine. That was very irresponsible of me, I should of controlled myself better." Jasper said, sounding too much like Edward.

"Seriously, I'm not angry with you."

"Fine, but you deserve to know why I behaved so horrible." Jasper said.

Bella's brown eyes brightened with obvious curiosity. Never would you find a moment when Bella wouldn't listen to a story, or an explanation of her vampire friends.

Jasper took a deep breath and began his story.

"My story is some what similar to Alice's. During my human time, my parents were terrible to me. They were hardly ever home and when they did they treated me as their housekeeper instead of a son. I'm not saying I was abused or under fed, my parents just didn't have time for me. Before I became what I am now, I discovered that my parents didn't want me, they had me on mistake." Jasper's eyes went from very sad to extreme loathing in a matter of seconds. Before he began with his story, Jasper's eyes now were a little wet around the corners, Bella knew this would be the hard part of the story.

"Finally my parents had enough of me, they threw me out of the house. I was only about fourteen so I didn't know what to do, I wasn't responsible enough yet to fend for myself. From the way my parents treated me, I left my house hating all humans. At time some friendly people would ask me if I wanted help but I would glare at them and just simply walk away. Soon, there was enough hatred towards humans in my I completely gave up. After walking around my hometown for a bit I went over to the side of the street and lied down on the hard, cold ground. This part of my story is somewhat like Carlisle's story now. I never moved from my stop on the side of the street. It was almost a convenient spot actually, I heard lots of information from the passing people. One particularly scary piece of information I heard was that the small pox disease was going around the town."

Bella opened her mouth to ask a question, but Jasper held up his hand to silence her.

"I knew I should get help or something along that line, but I was too weak to even sit up. Before long, the small pox disease got to me. Luckily for me, or at least I think it was lucky, a pack of vampires found me and changed me. They were the foulest vampires I have ever met. Their influence made me hate humans, along with vampires, even more. Thankfully, Carlisle found me after the other pack of vampires left me. You can pretty much guess the rest of the story, Carlisle changed me and tried hard to train me to be a 'good' vampire."

Looking over at Bella, Jasper noticed she had tears falling down her cheeks. In an instant, Jasper was by her side. For a moment Jasper just sat there staring at her, but then he gave her an awkward hug. This action brought Bella to even more tears, not tears of sadness, tears of joy! Jasper Cullen had enough strength to hug her, without tearing open her throat. This was enough for Bella to forgive Jasper for anything he will ever do.
