Chapter One
The alarm clock rang shrill in her ear. The little girl sat up, turned her Marill alarm clock off by tapping its tail and skipped downstairs in her Jigglypuff pyjamas.
"Hi mum, I got to go."
"Wait little lady, your not dressed and you also haven't had breakfast."
"I don't want to be late mum."
"Fine then, we shall make a deal, you go and get dressed and you can have a banana before you go."
"Thank you mum." The older women laughed as she watched the little girl run back upstairs. She could feel herself glowing with pride as her little girl was ten today, she would get her first pokemon today. She also felt a little sad, her daughters journey would soon begin. In no time at all, she bounded back into the kitchen, shoes tied, hair up and bag on her back.
"Oh no sweetie, leave your bag here, I will make sure it is packed properly for when you get back. You are not going on your journey until you have had a decent lunch and your mothers approval of your choice of pokemon. Now go before they are all gone." She laughed again as her daughter bolted out the house, a smile on her face. "Happy Birthday," she said to her fleeing child.
Sarah ran all the way to the Professors lab as fast as she could. She stopped in front of it, and looked up in awe. She was so exited, today was her tenth birthday so se would get her first pokemon today. The doors opened and she walked in. Professor Oak was waiting for her.
"Hello my dear, how are you today?"
"I'm fine Professor, I turned ten today." She said beaming up at him.
"So I hear, so that means you receive a pokemon today." He watched as the little girl squealed and clapped her hands. "Follow me." The girl followed the old man, looking at all the pokemon which were walking around.
"Here we are. These are called-"
"Pokeballs. They are used to catch pokemon and then they sleep in them." The man laughed a little.
"I see you know a bit about pokemon, well, there are three pokeballs, go and press the button in the middle."
He watched as she walked up to them and pressed them one by one.
"Squirtle." She smiled and cuddled the turtle when it came up to her.
"Charmander." She looked a little wary about its tail, but she still shook its hand when the pokemon offered it to her.
"Bulbasaur." Her face lit up when she saw it.
Professor Oak watched from the door as she sat down with the pokemon and let them run around her, playing. After a while, the Professor walked to the group and sat next to her.
"Do you know which one you would like?" She looked up and nodded.
"Please can I have this one?" Oak looked down and saw that she was stroking Bulbasaur, who had curled up in the girls lap and gone to sleep.
"Of course you can, how about I put these pokemon back in their balls and I walk back home with you?"
"Can I carry him home?"
"Your Bulbasaur is a female and yes you can if you want." She beamed again and started walking home, cradling her pokemon to her chest. She gently kicked her front door open and found her mum in the kitchen.
"Hi mum, I brought a friend home." She turned round and saw the Professor standing at the door.
"Come on in Oak, we are just about to have lunch."
"Thank you." He sat at the table and watched her show her mum the now stirring Bulbasaur.
"Now come on, we will eat lunch and then discuss what you should do on your journey, ok." She nodded and sat at the table, after putting pokemon food in a bowl for her new friend.
