Prompt: Sharing a bed

Mike woke up in the middle of the night with his face buried in Paige's hair. He blinked a few times as he tried to make sense of his surroundings. The last thing he remembered was Paige offering to keep him company while he recuperated.

Charlie's guilt was on overload since he got hurt when Bello jumped him in jail and he was there at her urging. It didn't matter how many times he had told Charlie that he made the choice to go under after leaving the hospital AMA, she still felt guilty and ordered him to stay home and rest for a few days. The look she gave him made him think it would be a good idea to follow her suggestion. He didn't want to find out what happened if he snuck out of the house.

As for Paige, she still had her doubts about his assignment and his subsequent lies. But she was slowly coming around. Her offering to watch movies with him let him know she wanted to move past everything and a movie marathon provided a great buffer so they didn't have to talk.

Paige's laptop was tilted on its side and wedged between them. Mike slowly eased himself into a sitting position so he wouldn't wake up Paige. He carefully closed her laptop and set it on her end table.

Before heading back to his room, Mike took a few moments to watch Paige sleep. A peaceful expression filled her face, making it clear that the tension of the house wasn't infiltrating her dreams. He carefully slid his arm out from underneath her and tried his best not to disturb her. Paige mumbled something in her sleep and inched closer to him. It would be easy to give into temptation and fall asleep next to the beautiful woman that occupied his thoughts when he wasn't thinking about work.

Before he had a chance to make up his mind, Paige's eyes suddenly opened and she looked up at him. "Where are you going?" Paige asked as she curled herself around his arm.

"We fell asleep, I just woke up. I was going back to my room to go to sleep."

Paige titled her head slightly and looked at her alarm clock before turning her attention back to him. "It's basically three in the morning. If you get up, you probably won't fall back asleep for a while. Just stay here." Paige snuggled closer to him, "You make a great pillow."

"Paige..."

She jumped away from him, "Are you okay? Am I hurting you?" Paige asked. Her eyes were filled with concern and she started grabbing more pillows in order to make him more comfortable.

"I'm fine, you're not hurting me."

Paige visibly relaxed at his words. "Good."

"My room is right down the hall, it's not a big deal."

"And you seem pretty comfortable right here. Just stay," Paige said. "Unless there's a reason why you don't want to. Stay or don't stay. It's your choice." Paige settled back down on the pillows and curled on her side so she was facing him.

His room was right next to hers, but why get up and move when he was perfectly comfortable right here? Paige was right. Besides, she wanted him to stay. He wasn't taking advantage of a situation if she asked him to stay.

Mike adjusted his pillow and relaxed as Paige moved closer to him. His eyes slowly started to drift shut when she carefully placed her hand on his chest. He had a fleeting thought that one of them should get up and shut the door, but he didn't want to move.

Besides, everyone already thought they were sleeping together. They weren't. He didn't have anything to hide and Paige didn't seem to care. Not that it mattered. This was just a sleepover.
