Harry was sitting in one of the large cushiony armchairs in the Gryffindor common room late one night, waiting for Ginny. It was close to one o'clock in the morning and they were having a picnic. It may seem strange that they were having a picnic that late, but it was the only way they could be sure they wouldn't be interrupted in the middle of it.

Harry had fallen asleep waiting for Ginny to come down. As she approached him she could see his glasses askew on his face which was currently smooshed against the leather back of the armchair. Ginny couldn't help but laugh a little. Her giggle stirred him from his slumber and he started.

"Sorry," she whispered. "You know, if you're too tired we can always do this another time."

"No," he replied, fixing his glasses and standing up. "I said we would go tonight and we will."

"Okay. Where are we going anyways?"

"It's a surprise," Harry said as he pulled his invisibility cloak from underneath the chair and tapped the Marauder's Map with his wand. "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good," he muttered.

They waited a few minutes until the coast was clear, then flung the invisibility cloak around them and walked out of the portrait hole. They crept down corridors and through shortcuts when they saw ghosts coming or Filch lurking about. In a few minutes they arrived at their destination and Harry put the cloak away.

"The Astronomy Tower, eh?" Ginny said looking around.

"Yeah. It has the best view of the grounds and the stars," Harry replied as he laid out the blanket he had brought with him.

"Wow. Look at them."

Harry gazed up at the stars. It was a cloudless night providing excellent views of the stars. There was a full moon which cast a soft glow upon the grounds and enhanced Ginny's beauty.

"Wow," he said, looking at her.

"What?" she asked. "Is there something wrong?"

"No, it's just… You look amazing."

Even in the dim light he saw her blush.

"So where's the food?" she asked. "I thought this was supposed to be a picnic."

"Oh, right," Harry said, coming out of the trance she had put him into. "Dobby," he called to the air.

With a slight "pop" a picnic basket appeared in front of him.

"Efficient," Ginny said with a smile as she sat down on the blanket.

"I thought so," Harry replied, sitting next to her and opening the picnic basket. There were two peanut butter sandwiches and a flask of pumpkin juice in it, along with two glasses. He removed the juice and glasses and filled them. He then passed her her sandwich and took a bite of his own. They ate in silence for a few minutes until Ginny broke the silence.

"Thank you, Harry," she said.

"For what?" he said and smiled at her.

"For this," she motioned to their surroundings. "It's beautiful. I couldn't imagine a better way to spend the night."

"I love you, Ginny," he said as he leaned in and kissed her.

"I love you, too," she replied as she lay back on the blanket to look at the stars.
