He dreamt of a man
With a heart of coal
And eyes like ice
And he cried.
And he awoke
To a world where all feared him
And chased him away
And he felt isolated.
And the maiden arrived
With beauty unheard of
And a bright smile
And he felt warmth.
And he looked upon her
Her porcelain face
And glowing skin
And he felt love.
And she turned him away
With eyes full of mirth
And she laughed at his daring
And he felt alone.
And he locked himself away
As they all mocked him
And he lurked in the shadows
And he felt hatred.
And he looked in the mirror
Saw his heart of coal
And his eyes like ice
And he laughed.
