Here I am again! Back with another Yu-Gi-Oh Fanfiction! Though, rather than a Monarchshipping Fanfiction, this one is a Puzzleshipping. This one was originally deleted due to the fact I wasn't too impressed with the quality. Though, now I have finished re-vising it, and am ready to share it with everyone again.
I truly hope you all enjoy this chapter! It took awhile to edit.
Chapter 1: Friend, or Foe?
One step after the other You do understand how hard it is to look at you're feet and try to walk, yes? Amethyst eyes were pointed downward, watching his every step with an interest. The boy had just got done with going over to one of his closest friend's house, and was currently on his way home.
The boy glanced up, making sure he was still on the right path. He was, but he couldn't shake off this particular feeling. The boy looked around, no one was there. Who else would be walking late at night in the city? The only light that was available to the almost fragile looking teen was the street lights the city had.
The small boy looked back down at his feet, but not before shuddering uncomfortably. He knew that he could be very paranoid at times, maybe this was one of those occasions? Boom! The boy's head shot up and looked skywards, a drop, just a small drop, landed on his nose. The small boy flinched slightly at the sudden connection.
He pulled his arms from his jacket sleeves and lifted the said object over his head, in an attempt to not get that wet. He started to move quicker, looking at his surroundings trying to find shelter, any kind of shelter would be helpful at the moment. Because, who in the right mind wants to walk in the rain?
Bingo! The boy spotted a bus pickup just ahead, he quickened his pace into a sprint trying to get to the designated area as fast as possible. But, he had to be careful, or else he might slip and hurt himself. No one wants to get scraped on cement, right? Of course not! It hurts!
Once the boy had made it safely under the cover over the bench, he decided to sit down. The small one shuddered once again, but for two reasons this time. One, because we was partially frozen, and another, because he still had this eerie feeling like he was being watched with every move he made.
The boy shivered for what seemed to be the millionth time. The fact that he was cold, scared, and tired... Didn't help. He just wanted to be back home with his grandpa at the game shop, safely tucked away beneath the warm covers of his bed. The boy squirmed around, trying to take off his backpack.
He had made up his mind, it may not be the safest, but he was just so worn out. The combination of the weather and today's events were finally catching up to him. Once he had pried off his soaked backpack he made himself go into a position similar of what he would back at home in bed, preparing to fall asleep.
He placed the backpack neatly under his head, situating it like he would one of his pillows. Once his head made contact with the object, it was almost like he was at a war with himself. One side trying to fight the urge to stay awake, and the other side trying to just fall asleep and let whatever happens happen. The urge to fall asleep was stronger to say the least.
He closed his eyes, and as almost if on cue, fell asleep. But he couldn't help notice, that before he fell asleep there was movement beside him. He was just so tired however, he didn't want to open his eyes and investigate.
The small boy stirred, he was awake now, but just barely. He didn't want to open his eyes any at all. But, he noticed something. The something was that he wasn't lying on the bench anymore, but rather, in someones arms. They were strong to say the least, and very warm. On instinct the boy snuggled closer to the firm chest on one side of his body.
He heard a very deep baritone chuckle, and slightly smiled at the noise, having fallen in love with the way it sounded. But sleep once again claimed him, he tried to fight it, with all his heart in fact... But again the need to sleep was stronger, so this time he slept soundly. In this strong persons grasp, he was completely content. But he didn't know why.
The small boy awoke, the blinding rays of the sun shone brightly against his closed eyelids, waking him immediately from his slumber. He opened his eyes to mere slits, on instinct shutting them tightly in an attempt to block out the bright rays of sunlight.
The boy turned over in his bed... Wait... His bed?! His eyes shot open and his sat up almost as fast as lightning. The mere shock enough to wake him up completely. The small one looked around frantically, trying to find the source of this turn of events. But, there was nothing.
He was in his room, under the covers of his bed. A thought struck the boy, and he threw his covers off of him and into the floor, he looked at the clothing he was wearing. They were his pajamas... Strange, that couldn't have been a dream, could it? The boy asked himself in his head. He was beyond confused.
"Yugi! Come get you're breakfast!", The boy now known as Yugi jumped at suddenly being called. But he quickly relaxed once he realized he recognized that voice. It was his grandpa's. The small boy carefully made his way out of his bed, and headed downstairs. Who was that?
Many apologies to those who think any of the chapters to my books are too short. All that you need to know is: I get cramps in my hands quite frequently when I try to type for an extended period of time. I try to type at least 900 words per chapter in any of my books. Though, sometimes I fall a little bit short on that.
Anyhow, if you enjoyed this chapter, please be sure to leave a review! They never fail to make my day, and they also help to motivate me to keep writing!
