The Doctor stood by the doors of the TARDIS filled with a wild anticipation. One step, and he would be on a completely new alien world, and no doubt go off and have some adventures, save a few people and generally do quite a lot of running.
But this was always his favourite part; the anticipation before another adventure. He had no idea what was beyond those blue doors. He had all of time and space to play with.
"What have you got for me this time," he asked Sexy. "It had better be something exciting."
Then he pulled open the doors and took his first step onto the grass. It was springy and healthy underfoot, and he closed his eyes for a second to relish in the fresh air.
"Hello Sweetie."
The Doctor's eyes flung open in surprise, and he almost jumped out of his skin to find River Song, dressed rather peculiarly, with a gun in her hand and a smirk on her face. She was wearing a gold dress that showed off her (rather marvellous) curves with a split down the bottom that showed just a sliver of her (also rather marvellous) legs. Leather boots clad her feet and a blood-red silk cape fell from her shoulders, while a gold mask the same colour as her dress covered her eyes.
His mouth was slack with amazement and awe, and his eyes were trying their best not to stray, when he remembered something that Amy had said many, many years ago.
