Disclaimer: I don't own BBT
"PENNY," Leonard exclaimed after seeing her laying on the couch in obvious pain, "WHAT HAPPENED!" She was all up and down her back and rear and legs and tears were pooling in her eyes.
"My ex-boyfriend decided I needed a beating," she explained through gasps of tears. She could hardly speak.
"Well maybe he needs one," Leonard replied furious.
Dwine got out of the bathroom.
"I don't think you know what you're talking about," Dwine told Leonard, "I simply did what you should have done my friend."
"Well we agree on one thing," Leonard replied, "I should have done it a long time ago."
Grabbing a baseball bat he stood on a chair and whacked Dwine over the head with it.
"I was not talking about myself," Dwine said, "I was talking about Penny"
"Yeah well you're a jackass," Leonard replied, "NOBODY cares what you think!"
"Do you know what a brat is," Dwine asked, "A brat needs to be taken in hand sometimes."
"Is that," Leonard began putting his hand to his ear and pretending to be listening to a small sound, "It is! It's the sound of me not caring!"
He took the baseball bat again and moved to hit him again.
"If you hit me again I will call 911," Dwine said.
"Nah," Leonard said, "I think I did enough damage."
"Good," Dwine said, "Now I recommend you take Penny in hand at least three times a week."
"No," Leonard roared, "Now GET OUT!"
...
"GOD PENNY," Leonard exclaimed, "He left welts and everything"
"No kidding," Penny said dryly, "Thank you for the observation."
"It looks so painful," he said bending down to kiss her injuries.
"It is," Penny said, "Call a doctor please."
"Already on it," Leonard said whipping out his cell phone.
"I have to confess something," Penny said, "I exclaimed G*** D****** when Dwine hit me."
"Um... okay so?"
"I know it was wrong," she said, "I'm sorry."
"Penny for cryin' out loud," he said, "I would have said a whole lot worse then what you said. Besides I'm not religious. I really don't care about crap like that."
"But you're the best of the best," Penny said.
"The best scientist maybe," Leonard said
"No Leonard you're the best of the best. Let me tell you something. Whenever I'm having a bad day who is there to make it better? Whenever I'm hurting you're the one that stops the pain. I know you're the best of the best."
Leonard stroked her hair.
"Penny let me tell you something. In my eyes you're perfect. You are always accepted because you are my soul"
At the hospital the doctor asked Leonard what happened.
"She was beaten," Leonard explained squeezing Penny's hand.
"What did the offender use," the doctor asked, "and were you the one that beat her?"
"Don't be stupid," Leonard replied, "If I had been the one to beat her I wouldn't have brought her to the hospital. I don't know what he used. I wasn't there when he did it."
The doctor looked at Penny.
"Do you remember what he used," he asked.
"It was a belt," Penny said, "Thick leather and he hit really hard"
The doctor did a quick examination and said, "It's welted and bruised as well as swollen. You'll recover but you're going to be in some serious pain for awhile."
"How long should it last for," Leonard asked as he saw tears well up in her eyes.
He gently squeezed her hand.
"Well it's hard to say," the doctor replied, "Probably about two or three days. Meanwhile I'm going to prescribe some pain pills."
Penny did recover after several days. Leonard was right there by her side the whole time. Even Sheldon was there. Thanks to Leonard she wasn't in pain but she was uncomfortable. A few months later Sheldon and Leonard were talking.
"Leonard you said that Penny was accepted no matter what?"
"She is. What's your point?"
"Am I accepted no matter what?"
"Of course," Leonard said, "But Penny puts the light in my eyes. You put the gray in my hair"
