Rain - "Driving Rain"

Standing on the edge of the blotched concrete sidewalk, she waited for him. Ash tainted clouds veiled the once bright, blue sky. She wrinkled her nose. If he didn't come any time soon, she'll be caught in a downpour. She tapped her feet. Light droplets of water began to slowly beat against her pale, translucent skin.

"Miss me, princess?"

His acid green eyes stared tauntingly at her frozen blue. She smiled as she hurriedly placed her bags in the trunk and sat in the passenger seat. The very moment she closed the door, rain began to pour heavily.

"Aren't you just lucky? A second any later and you would be soaked."

"No thanks to you." Blood red princess retorted dryly. Her hands now worked on fixing her damp hair.

"On the contrary, thanks to me, those cute little curls on head are still intact."

She stuck out her tongue and stared dejectedly towards the window.

His zealous laughter echoed throughout the leather covered interior.

Hours later, the pair found themselves sailing through the dark highway, the heavy rain coursing through the windshield. Bored out of her mind with her feet on the dash, she looked at the sun roof. Drops of rain cascaded from the center of the roof and flowed down the sides of the car.

"Do they collide?" She asked, her finger tips touching the cool glass above.

"Hey, if you're going to talk about Chemistry, can it wait until…"

She scowled. The twenty-something pages assigned over the break hadn't even entered her brain. Even if she were out of her mind, the last thing she'd ever want to talk about is Chemistry.

"No," She frowned. "The stars. It got me thinking, if there's billion upon billion of stars, then isn't the probability of them colliding against each other, I don't know, quite high? If so, then would they be like these raindrops hitting this window, slashing and bursting in every direction?"

The car began to slow down and eventually stopped at a little an clove. She turned to her partner, her confusion now replacing her recent thoughts.

"Hey…" She began, her frozen blue eyes a little confused and a little lost and maybe a little panicked.

"You know what I think? I think you're thinking too much."

"Hey!" She shouted as she playfully hit his shoulders. He caught her wrist, and a wide grin flashed across his perfect pearly whites.

"And you know what else I think?"

She nodded as acid green slowly, slowly, slowly consuming her.

"I wonder what happens when two people collide."

She smiled as their bodies rocked to a motion that could only be described as fiery.
