An Epic Fail
*This is based on a real life experience
If I owned any of these characters, I wouldn't have to write fan fiction. I would just write more books.
Halt looked at the recipe in confusion. It was completely beyond him why anyone would make something with so much salt. It was something called play dough. "What kind of name is that? " Halt wondered aloud. Unfortunately for him Will happened to be passing by right then. "Halt, are you talking to yourself?" Will asked in amusement. "No." Halt replied shortly. I suppose I should try this recipe out, just to make sure that it's not dangerous. Halt did. And found out soon enough what a mistake that was.
Just like the recipe told him gradually added the water to get the right… "consistency". He kneaded the dough until it was smooth. Except there was one problem. It never got smooth. It was a sticky, goopy disaster. Halt frowned. This wasn't working. He scanned the recipe, looking for any directions he might have missed. He didn't find anything. He continued to knead it adding anything that might make it work. Flour, more water, anything (he didn't have any more salt, he'd used it all making the play dough). It didn't work.
- 2 hours later
Halt stared down at the gloppy, sticky disaster that covered his hands. He scowled. He could hear Will tromping through the forest, talking to….. someone. He growled in frustration. Now Will was going to walk in on him covered in goop. With a friend. Could this day get any worse? The whole town would be talking about the famous Ranger Halt, defeated by homemade play dough. Will walked with his friend. Who was actually Halt's former apprentice. Who was actually Gilan. Who would bring this day up every time he saw Halt for the rest of his life. Which would be awful. Halt frantically searched for a scraper to scrape this gunk off of his hands. Every time he tried to wipe it off with his own hands, it would seemingly multiply, and the play dough was now a giant glove on both hands. Will and Gil (:D That rhymes!)) walked in and Will immediately opened his mouth to, what else, ask a question."Halt, what is that?" Will asked, sounding rather disgusted. "Play Dough!" Gil said immediately and walked up to Halt in pity." I had a horrible experience with this in my childhood, it got all over the place, my mother was so angry…" Gil shuddered. "Will, go find something to scrape this trash off with. " Gil commanded as he was already trying (and failing epically) to scrape it off with his own hands. Will did nothing. Gil looked over to tell Will what to do again, But saw that he was rolling on the floor with laughter. He sighed and shook his head. This was going to take a while.
